In these days it's not good and of course not safe to venture too much into the snow, so we decided to go see the Kobarid Historical Path. It comprises nine points. We viewed seven points of this path. First, we saw the Italian ossuary. The ossuary stands on a hill above Kobarid called Gradišče around the church of St. Anthony. It is built in the shape of an octagon with three concentric circles that narrow towards the top, and right at the top stands the church of St. Anthony. Into this ossuary, they transferred over 7,000 mortal remains of fallen soldiers from other battlefields. The second point was Tonocov grad. It's a steep hill near Kobarid. There was a settlement here. It was inhabited in various historical periods. At the end of the 6th century, there were over twenty houses and several churches here. From Tonocov grad, we descended to the Soča along the Italian defensive line. It leads us through fortified shooting trenches and other military fortifications intended for the defense of the passage over the Soča. Then follows the viewing of the Kozjak stream waterfalls. Follows the viewing of the second Italian defensive line through covered trenches, small tunnels - even wire ropes assist us. Follows the descent to the road at Napoleon's bridge. Interesting is the Soča river gorge - across the Soča we went over a 52 m long bridge. We will surely return to this area.
