Extremely suitable trail for families with children. You can drive by car to the parking lot (15 min to Mozirska koča) via Šmihelj. Can also go to the top. Road is in good condition (last few km macadam). Can also go to the end of the asphalt road - even better. 1 hour to the top.
Golte trail can be shortened (don't go to Medvednjak/Stare stane) but go
MOZIRSKA KOČA (to the right of the chapel)-LEDENICA-LAKE-HLEVIŠKA PLANINA-ALPSKI VRT or reverse (as desired).

Sunny, no wind, warm (short sleeve t-shirt) morning on Golte. Nice view far around and rising mists from the valley.

Parked at alpine garden and headed to hotel. Road to hotel got new asphalt, ramps installed and notice that all-day parking costs 10€. Barriers up, parking not charged yet. So on Golte still free parking on widened road to hotel for now. Climbed to Medvednjak on path starting at hotel or lower station of Medvednjak chairlift. Continued to Treh plotov and followed direction to Isteje saddle, then to Boskovec to Javorce and finished at Mozirska koča or alpine garden. Trail easy, relaxing, about 9km long. Alpine garden abandoned, path structure still well preserved. Trip suitable for wider population, I especially miss children in mountains.
