Glave, 1760 m

On the same day when on the eastern slopes above Planica they were complaining about the gear of some hikers nasmeh, I – right above the opposite side of the valley – satisfied my curiosity on a less »instant«, circular path around the Glave, an overgrown group of peaks below Visoka Ponca.

At the ski jump I climbed up to the road above the jumps and later, just before its descent to Beli Potok, turned onto the logging trail on the right side. At its end I looked for the path on the left (cairn) and climbed up the forested slope. The path soon crosses the upper part (dry) of the Beli Potok streambed and then ascends a wide, overgrown gully under the Glave. It's well traceable, and due to the nice »zigzag« layout it's not strenuous.
At the path junction on the saddle under Glave (other directions: Tamar and Vratca) I head along the overgrown little path to the highest peak of Glave, where I had to search for views to the east among nettles and brush… nasmeh
After a short rest I descend back to the path junction, where I take the old shepherd's trail (part of PP) to Ovčja Stran – a cirque with a beautiful larch forest on its eastern side. When it approaches the larger gully below Visoka Ponca, where you can admire the sharp shape of the Turnci, a little path (cairn) branches off to the left (north), crossing the eastern slopes of Glave.

I noticed the mentioned trail on my last visit to these parts, but when I later tracked it on one of the maps – which also confirmed its connection to the PP path from Planica – I decided to »test« it.
It starts as a mostly well-traceable traverse that gradually descends over more than 200 elevation meters to its "end"; minor orientation issues are eased by cairns in places, elsewhere you just have to look more often nasmeh That the path is at least somewhat maintained is shown by the properly sawn branch when crossing (the only) fallen tree on it. It runs in south-north direction, later turns east too, then back to the mentioned direction. It crosses some gullies, and passage through some of them is demanding since there are no fixed protections on the path (except one chain, which is no longer reliable) – the rock is mostly crumbly and scree-covered, caution needed. Views to the east are nicer from this path than from the top of Glave, to the renewed junction with the PP path (this time on the Planica side), I needed less than an hour of walking.

While descending the narrow, leaf-covered and occasionally exposed path towards Planica, I soon realized I was too close to Beli Potok and thus on a hunter's trail that leads near its right bank, the PP »escaped« me to the right during descent nasmeh
The otherwise well-traceable hunter's trail required quite some acrobatics, not only when crossing two larger windthrows, but also individual trees on the path, where you had to ride over the fallen giants or crawl under and between them nasmeh At these spots the passage is eased, but only with the most necessary »saw interventions«. A little before the flat I descended to Beli Potok, where just before its sinkhole I refreshed a bit.
Nice and not too hot day.

Forgiven nasmeh More than the eased passage, the confirmation I'm not on a totally abandoned path meant a lot, thanks nasmeh
