Gladki lašt 2100m

In the SSKJ dictionary, a lašta is supposed to be a ledge in the rock overgrown with grass.
And peaks with this name are located in Zgornja Komna.
Since I ran out of time in autumn 2014 to visit all three (two named, one just a point with the same features), I consciously decided to revisit these pathless, wild, overgrown areas.
After paying six euros I head across the bridge and via Komarča to reach the hut at the seven lakes in two hours. After good tea (1.80€) I continue through the valley of Triglav lakes and turn left in time towards Veliki Špič. At the top I run into a large group that was in good mood. I snap a few pics, quench my thirst and continue along the ridge westwards. Just before Brdi I descend from the ridge and first visit Mali lašt 2050, Debeli lašt 2098 and finally tackle the unconquered Gladki lašt 2100.
On Sidart's Bohinj map there's a dashed line for descent to the marked connecting path and I decided to find it and use it, since I had plenty of time for any searching. As said, I start descending west from that hill, using the natural fracture line that brings me almost 300m lower. Of course, I didn't find the path and the fight with bushes and sinkholes begins. I sigh in relief after a good hour when I hit the marked connecting path between Velika vrata and Lopučnica. At the junction I choose Komna, so I finish the tour with double-spiced sausage.
I don't recommend repeating my descent from Lašt to anyone (except maybe experts), as the battle with bushes is "on knife's edge".

On Sidart's maps I've already found mistakes several times on "hunter paths". Obviously not the most reliable here. By feel, PZS maps are more realistic (1:25000 scale). Of course I'm talking about unmarked trails. Congrats on the tour!

Ha, @mailman, I wouldn't know exactly, but I have receipt from parking (6.15) and tea (8.17), I took light backpack on purpose for the long way.
@Daaam, you're right, but wouldn't put hand in fire for PZS maps either. Don't get why publishers don't collaborate. Otherwise lots of flaws in general, height or hill location, inconsistent naming, most annoying is map printed on crap paper.

Really, the maps are on such bad paper that I have to constantly laminate the back so the map stays whole. Already after a single use!

The reason for non-cooperation between map publishers is often money. Someone traces a path, someone else would then publish and sell it, without paying the first anything (or very little). A colleague (who also often posts on the forum) could say more about this - from personal experience.

Otherwise, congrats on the tour!

@lijaneja. Of course I wouldn't put my hand in the fire for PZS maps either. But it feels a shade better, even though Sidarta has better graphics in my personal opinion. And I agree with the opinion on paper quality.

lijaneja, next time don't whine that the times are here and I don't know what elsejezik...if the time is printed on paper, that's it. Otherwise it's a really nice end to Komna, looks very easy, great for exploring and finding passages, very "light"!nasmeh

For such "explorations" I decide only with really good weather forecast (and it sometimes tricks me), so I have lots of time in reserve if something gets "tangled".
Otherwise I also had a "mishap" on Krvavec that happened the day before.nasmeh

I think I've already been to Gladki lašt, before that walked the ridge Travniški rob-Travnik-Plaski Vogel, then to this Gladki lašt. This one is closest to Vršac which I also climbed, then back to Soča.

According to the map, you probably descended into the wrong valley and should have kept more towards SE.

Regarding maps, I think we should collect the data ourselves together. On the Wikipedia-like principle, OpenStreetMap is being created, which is not limited to streets and slowly improving coverage of our mountains too.

I don't deny that possibility. As said, I used the natural tectonic fracture and descended at least 250m first over scree, then rocks and boulders without bushes. Upon reaching the lowest lašt point extending south, to the left where this pathlet should start was the most impassable, so I took exactly south through dense bushes, where the bushes gradually thinned and turned into larch forest. I persistently kept the south direction, as I knew the marked path approaches closest here and I'd eventually hit it, which happened. If I'd pushed east, it'd be farther to the path to VŠ, and terrain rises too.
Regarding OpenStreetMap I'll have to educate myself.

Lijaneja, surely the Lašti are those two-thousanders of yours that you won't repeat, just like me. They are on the list, including mine, where in my opinion they don't belong. When searching for descents or passages, you often need luck too.

But I think it's exactly such and similar "Lašti" that provide the thrill that pulls you into the mountains. No markings, no pegs, no wire ropes, maybe a cairn, basically sober terrain judgment comes into play! And here you learn the most! And lijaneja is the right "material" for such things!mežikanje

Cenc, you're right. They have neither "aesthetic" nor panoramic value. They are just there, have a name and measured height (which isn't always accurate for less prominent ones) and every peak over 2000m is interesting to me.
Also @mailman correctly notes; my goal isn't just conquest but also the access way, view from top, peculiarities of the hill...
Some targets happily eluded me, so I befriended it only on the third try - luckily I have no hurry. nasmeh

Well said Tone, for us a bit greener in discovering pathless approaches, many of your info really comes in handy.

Like first Tone's post - much bigger loop than just Gladki Lašt. One part of path (almost) exactly same. Instead of hunting that trail on map from Gladki Lašt we head on to Velika vrata and Kal. Roughly by contour line, "by nose". Real top-class orientation in complete pathlessness. Slalom through boulders, deep screes and bush colonies. And unlike some I won't write - tour you circle once and never repeat velik nasmeh
