Very interesting tour. I plan to do it with snowshoes this Friday, and I'm wondering if there are any orientation issues on the path, given that it's now under snow. Haven't done this path yet, but been to Pecol pasture several times. Found website: http://www.sentierinatura.it/easyne2/LYT.aspx?Code=SentieriNatura&IDLYT=1349&ST=SQL&SQL=ID_Documento=2110 with GPS track, so it will somehow help me. But start supposed at abandoned ski area on Sella Nevea? Does anyone have info on snow, did much fall today around there? Maybe some tips on path?

Finally we decide to drive a bit further to make use of the whole day and after description and photos of Maja0 and dm72 no doubt - Sella. There surprise; three acquaintances from Lj. and young Svit. Exactly same goal and so 5 snowshoers, one ski tourer and 4-legged friends set off together towards pl. Kraj na dol. Good track made, Tagi doesn't sink either and we arrive easily to the pasture. Tempted towards Forca de La Val, where we observe 2 ski tourers elegantly zigzagging on powder. Looked safe and enjoyable. Then 2nd time! Towards Larici pure enjoyment, paradise for snowshoers and finally fantastic views. Kanin range more in clouds, Montasio kingdom in blue. At Pecol we stop, find out today more deserted; only 2 ski tourers overtake us, two Slovenes did reverse route. Return towards Larici when it cools a bit, there right down path 623, where track also made. I manage some turns on super powder, soon back at car. Hope to see soon...nasmehnasmeh

Thanks Maja0. Yes really crazy beautiful tour and if it was a bit closer we would surely be up here more often. Tagi is always happy as long as he goes along and despite 11 years he still walks well!! To you and your two doggies many more beautiful tours and maybe we meet somewhere, say something... On Wednesday (8.11.) we repeated our so beautiful and pleasant loop over pastures above Nevea pass. We walked with snowshoes, snow cover thickness very varied, from few cm below to half meter higher up. Winter fairy-tale like, nothing demanding, sunny, scenic and safe from avalanches. In short, this path offers everything many seek these days... nasmeh

The day promised to be nice already from the view on Stenar glowing in the morning sun as we drove through Dovje.
But that the tour would be so good I couldn't imagine yet, though I read enthusiastic descriptions and it was expected. And since it was a few days ago, I needed to check immediately if it was truenasmeh

It was really a winter fairy tale that started unfolding already at the view on pl.Krni dol. Skiers were ascending the same path simultaneously, but all continued straight to the "valley" towards Špik nad Špranjo.
At pl.Krni dol one would stay, but I was becoming impatient thinking of what else there is to see and experience on this path, as the fairy tale had just begun. And this lured us further over pl.Larice to pl.Pecol, which we wanted to experience from above too, so we climbed to hut Brazza.
At that time there was the world of skiers and snowshoers, no walkers, although in the morning it was still possible to walk nicely on quite frozen snow, so I delayed switching to snowshoes.

Return along the snowy road to Nevejski pass and then a stop at Rabeljsko jezero, which has not yet fully lost its ice cover.

Unforgettable tour executed in a beautiful winter day, certainly a special experience. Hard to choose the best words for all the beauties revealing themselves on the path, you admire them as you approach and look back at them as they slide past like unique shots you try to catch to relive them.

On Saturday we returned to these parts, started under the ski slope and walked along the nicely snow-covered road to alm Kraj na dol adorned with a nativity scene this year. After a short stop we continued towards Cas. Larice and then to Pecol. Since we were still early, we turned also to hut Brazza and from there watched some skiers ascending towards Rumeni spodmol. Some snow has slid in these days. When returning from Pecol to the parking lot, we noticed that some had driven to the plateau with cars although the road is snowy and occasionally icy. I hope there won't be many such heroes......also because snow melts sooner this way and for touring skiers this means carrying skis quite high.
