Creton di Clap Grande (2487)

After a working weekend that took place partly in the air for a while, it was time to relax a bit. And where better than in the mountains. With a colleague we eyed it last week from Creton di Culzei. This time after the obligatory cappuccino and croissant in Villa Santini we drive into Pesarina valley to Pian di Casa. There followed a pleasant one-hour ascent to the Fr. De Gasperi hut, which stands on a beautiful panoramic terrace. Short rest, then onwards under the magnificent walls of the Cretons. Below the entry gully on forc. Alpina we turn left on the path under the wall, and up to the fork of two marked routes. We turned right. At first the gully is quite ragged and crumbly, so caution is needed, higher it becomes more compact and narrower too. First part is easier climbing, gradually increasing to good II., maybe a bit more. Hardest spot is above the rock jammed in the gully, there you need to pull hard over it, and belaying with rope isn't superfluous, there follows a short not too difficult part, then small notch from which we traverse right and soon the cross on top appears. There follows some 10 m easy climbing and wonderful view opens. Soon noon rings in Granvilla, on nearby Creton di Culzei we spot a person and wave. Then carefully descend, at two spots abseil with rope. In the De Gasperi hut warden Nilo is already in his element, we drink beers, ask about next peak west of the visited one and slowly head to valley.

eheheh.. probably quite a few know that pub in Villa Santini.. Especially men.. Weird, really don't know why, I go there often too, and it's quite visited. Maybe because of parking, few meters from main road Anyway nice pics, nice day you picked, at sea we squeezed heavy drops

Climbing looks quite demanding. I believe they fairly earned their beers at Nilo's. Pics as usual, nice.

Hello. Very nice tour - three friends and I were on Culzei on Saturday. We didn't see anyone let alone meet. Good thing the hut is close and the friendly warden explained everything about "his paths" above the hut. Ferrata is in very good condition, soon I'll "stamp" Clap Grande too. Nice mountaineering greeting! Jure
