That the peak is 1200m above the lake, but doesn't look that high.

@dprapr ... of course not, I didn't write that anywhere. 1200m elevation gain accumulates on path, more precisely ... for 1220 m

Panda, that's above sea level. Garda is, in my opinion, not at 0 m a.s.l.

Cima SAT belongs to a small mountain range right above Lake Garda, which during WWI was the front line between Italians on one side and Austrians on the other. Accordingly, there are tons of military remains in this range, a real treasure trove for those who like to explore this topic. Besides Cima SAT, Cima Capi and Cima Rocca are relatively easily accessible, all connected by countless military paths. We've walked many of them in previous years, this time aiming to connect all three main peaks into a circular tour. Cima SAT has the most attractive access, so we took it as the main goal. We parked in Biacesa, a small village squeezed between Lago di Garda and Lago di Ledro. The central village parking has been repurposed and despite its size is only for locals, tourists have a new one just below the village. From the parking, we took paths 470 and then 405 first to Cima Capi. This is a side peak directly above the lake, with its attractive wall dropping steeply down. There are equipped climbing routes in it, but we preferred the more comfortable access via Sentiero Susssati. Soon we were at the summit and after a short break continued. Next goal was crossing the extremely steep slopes under Cima Rocca all the way to the chapel of St. Barbara. The path still marked 405, typically military and carved into the rocky slopes. Nowadays it's hard to understand the reasons for building a path in these steep areas, but anyway, something good remained from hard times . The beautiful path continued to the chapel, where we headed to the most notable ferrata in the area. It's called Via dell'Amicizia, special due to the large number of ladders in the second part. What ladders, some are real ladders . The longest among them is about 70 m and in the upper part completely vertical. It overcomes the steep wall and surely leaves no one indifferent. Even further to the summit, another similar treat awaits, and soon we stood on an excellent viewpoint. Here we were farthest from the start and began returning towards Cima Rocca. We chose combinations of different paths. Common to all is walking through military positions, and so many different remains together you rarely see. En route we hit the last peak Cima Rocca and descended the opposite slope to the church S. Giovanni. From there we chose a more comfortable pilgrims' path for the further descent and soon were back at the start. I warmly recommend the described loop or any part of it . More in the photo story... Data on the entire route: 14 km / 1700 m elevation Coordinates of starting point (Biacesa - new parking): 45.865080, 10.807301
