Brinjeva gora, St. Martin above Zreče

Today in search of sun towards the east. We parked at Unior in Zreče then with a map in hand along marked trails and roads in a good 5 hours we looped a nice circle: Brinjeva gora – St. Martin – Zlakova – Črešnova – Gorenje pri Zrečah – Koroška vas – Padeški vrh - past tourist farm Ramšak and down road serpentines into the valley to Boharina, Loška gora and back to Zreče. Weather held until Loška gora, when a short shower caught us, then sun again. Somewhere in Zlakova we caught the mark for Rogla, which we followed to the road junction right to Planina. Before this junction we left that direction and turned to the left road, which above farm Ramšak joins the main road from Rogla to Zreče. Zreško Pohorje enchants with wonderful views, varied paths, beautiful villages and hamlets, chapels on hilltops…

After pleasant martinovanje, today a jump to Brinjeva gora to gather new strength. Weather nice, real late summer. In the short climbing section caution is needed (huge leaves on path--slip hazard). Nice greetings

The sign is not in Zreče, but on the path Oplotnica-Brinjeva gora. Here today's tour also went.

Can I please have more info...where in Oplotnica is the starting point? Judging by the signs it looks like a circular path can be made, is it marked which is the climbing one, so we return via easier...Do you know paths from Zreče too? Thanks in advance for answers!

Starting point is near the church in Oplotnica. Circular tour can be made. Path is nicely marked, no problem. In Zreče starting point is near the thermal baths and is nicely marked. Nice greetings

Hello!
Today I visited Brinjeva gora from Oplotnica. The information I got from skala123 is completely correct, the path is exemplarily marked. On the climbing Boštjan path considerable caution is needed, as rocks are wet and lots of leaves on them. Otherwise nice circular path, all together in good 3 hours!

Path to the mountain maybe nicely marked, but for the via ferrata itself not, at least from Oplotnica direction.

Yesterday Škofja Loka retirees of PD Škofja Loka visited all three churches of Brinjeva gora ridge. This is Lower Styria area. We started from village Brezje pri Oplotnici, where there are signs for Brinjeva gora. In an hour and a half we were at the last church - St. Martin. First we met a chapel dedicated to Lourdes Mother of God. Soon we arrived at church of St. Neža, also dedicated to St. Sebastian (Boštjan) and Pope Fabian. Neža celebrates on Jan 21. It stands on top of hill Golika at 608m. In 1723 Žiče Carthusians supposedly started building it. It belongs to Zreče parish. Then followed somewhat steep ascent through trees and rocks to indistinct summit, where we find a bench and stamp. This is actually Brinjeva gora summit. Here a secured path from valley arrives. We descended just a couple of hundred meters further to second church of our path - church of Mother of God. They call it also Male Višarje. We continued to church St. Martin. Descent down to pleasant meadows quite steep. They started building Church St. Martin in 1769. It stands at 578m. First beginnings from 14th century. Carthusians from Žiče monastery supposedly started. Church St. Martin is fifth cultural monument in Slovenia marked with Martin's footprint. Down we descended on southwest side along meadow into valley.

Last time I was up here on a walk and by pure chance stumbled upon the cable under the wall.
Today morning I went to fix the impression velik nasmeh
From Zreče spa along PP1 to the sign posted by Potepinka. Along Boštjan path past ruins of Fraudenberg castle and then left under the ridge on very demanding secured path. The path itself shouldn't be underestimated, especially now with lots of leaves and low temps quite slippery. Otherwise exceptionally nice path that brings you directly to summit, where logbook and stamp. The summit itself has nice view towards Oplotnica.
Return along PP1 to spa.
The Boštjan path itself was built 20 years ago (info board at top) and is exemplarily marked and maintained. Praise!
Nice regards and happy trails!

After seven years Škofja Loka retirees PD section Četrkovci back in this area. This time from opposite end than seven years ago. Start in Oplotnica. Goes above quarry - well secured and thus reach first point - church St. Neža - on top Golika-608m. Followed second church and third. In between reach summit of Brinjeva gora ridge. Ascent also somewhat demanding, descent too. At end off path - along meadow edge and steeply through forest - completely pathless to ponds, where we had conclusion. Inn by ponds huge - nice. Closed Mondays Tuesdays. Despite nice warm sunny weather no visitors - pity. Prepared good Pohorje stew. Had fun, again treat for two hikers. Always enjoying!
