On Tuesday, on Culture Day, to Bogatin Saddle.
Up to Planina Duplje nicely trodden, crampons recommended. At the snow gauge it showed -10 degrees in the morning and over 100 cm of snow.
From the planina to the kasarna it was more or less possible to follow predecessors, at moments sinking in quite a bit.
Trees were getting even prettier, all branches and twigs encased in ice. Sparkling views you don't forget easily and best "photograph" with your eyes.
Above the kasarna conditions got a bit more serious, on the steep slope heavily frozen snow covered with a layer of powder. Further on a bit better, but most of the way to the saddle the whole landscape in ice glaze. Ice axe and crampons mandatory.
On return the sun showed its power and trees started shedding ice shells. Real symphony of falling ice sounds.
At the end short detour to the lake and enjoy warm afternoon sun in winter idyll... nasmeh
