Bivouac below Kočna

The bivouac lacks nothing anymore. It is ready for your arrival. Welcome.
The credit for this goes mainly to PD Iskra with some dedicated mountaineering workers, to whom their mountaineering enthusiasts passed on how to love their mountaineering jewel, which means a lot. Next year it will be 60 years since the enthusiastic "Iskraši" carried all the material on their backs to where the bivouac stands today - height 1952 and opened in 1952. Except for Črt all are deceased.
Here one should also remember Jožeta Ošlaka, who together with Janez Drašler excellently cared for the bivouac, which has a large share in the quick action and great moral support.
Aren't these the facts for which it was worth the effort for the renovation?

Tomorrow afternoon I'll visit it via the old path through Suhega Dola and Spodnjih Dolcev. This path I'll walk for the first time. I'm already looking forward to it!

On the bivouac holiday I visited the bivouac. Already in June I went looking for the old path through Suhega Dola to the bivouac, but I didn't find the path. I went all three forest paths to the end and all led me under the Taške rocks, so I gave up then. Today I met a friendly gentleman Jože at the parking lot under the farm and joined him on the direct path to the bivouac. Before we reach the junction for the new path to Cojzova koča we turn left up the steep forest path and follow it straight to the end. There are several turnoffs to the right, but they are not the right ones-they lead under Taške rocks, which I found out already in June. When the forest path ends, we have to go a little to the right to reach steep grassy meadows and go up them to the jump-extensive rock face, which we bypass on the left and reach a couple of fixed cables that safely take us over the rocks. Then a path appears, which we follow over a small scree, then again steeply up through high grass and suddenly we find ourselves in front of the bivouac. So this is basically an unmarked path and mostly pathless. Otherwise it's not technically demanding, but strenuous and orientationally demanding. I probably wouldn't have found it alone. Today the bivouac celebrates 60 years and there were many hikers up there. At four o'clock in the afternoon there was a ceremony at Suhadolnikova high mountain farm.

Higher up we walk beside a small scree. This scree is before the jump we cannot cross.3
We cannot overcome this jump. On the left side we bypass it using a few cables.4

Here we are already past the scree and now past these high steep grasses to the bivouac.7
Suddenly we spot the renovated bivouac under Kočno.8
On the holiday I really was not alone.9

Today I also started at the parking lot under Suhadolnikova mountain farm. I'm going to Taška, to Grdi graben on Dolce to the bivouac below Kočna. Then across Ovnovega čera to the bivouac below Grintavec. There I have a longer break, then to Cojzova koča and back to the valley.
On Suhadolnik's meadows Slovenian native cattle graze. I don't know the breed.1

Looks like I haven't been to the bivouac for two years. It's nice here.

Yes, Velkavrh, it's been five years since the bivouac lost its shirt.
Mr. Sekne is to be thanked for preserving the bivouac; I am extremely grateful to him for that.1

From Suhadolnik along the »hunter's« path is not easy, lots of fallen trees. Taška is still closed, the classic one »torn«.

Return over Hudi graben required some climbing, mainly over the torrent.

Kočna via Hudi graben will have to wait on me until the path improves at least a bit. Just like Visoka ponca has been waiting for years.
