Yesterday, 18.11.2015, a Slovenian army helicopter with the help of mountain rescuers took the bivouac down to the valley. They couldn't tell us exactly when and what kind they will install in the future. Considering it defied nature for almost 80 years and was a second home to mountaineers, the sight was quite sad. I hope that in 2016 we will already be able to enjoy the comfort of the new bivouac (let it be similar to the bivouac under Skuta, which was first intended for this location).

It would really be nice if they install it next year, since it's definitely needed there

Hi. Planning to head to the bivouac these days. Has anyone been around there lately or what gear do I need. Crampons, ice axe? Thanks

Bivouac is already accessible without crampons no problem. Some snow last 30 min, but most of that can be bypassed. Further on snow cover is greater.

In the valley below the bivouac, at around 2000m altitude, there are various remains, including a bomb (in the picture). Maybe someone knows the historical events around it?
