Along the Kamniška Bistrica River

Yesterday we did a very nice trip along the Kamniška Bistrica River. We started at the lower station of the gondola that goes to Velika Planina. A short descent to the Kamniška Bistrica river followed. The path leading towards the source runs all along the river. There is plenty to see. Numerous pools, rapids, waterfalls, springs, countless bellflowers or snowdrops, most interesting of course is the Predaselj gorge, where Kamniška Bistrica narrows to just a meter or two and we observe it about 20-30 meters in the canyon. After a short visit to the homestead in Kamniška Bistrica we returned to the starting point along the cart track that runs some distance from the river and path. Up, admiring the river 2 hours, back along the cart track less than an hour. Although I have been to Kamniška Bistrica many times (by road with car) I had no idea what beauties hide just a stone's throw from the road. I am sure that many of you did not know about this path along the river either. LP.
