Starhand 1965m (Carnic Alps)

Today I set off from the village Blače/Vorderberg, which is located in the Lower Gail Valley (30km west of Villach), to the Dolnica/Dolinza Alm pasture. From the pasture, where the road ends, I continued on a pleasant trail that in the upper part ran along autumn-colored larches. When I reached the ridge I first climbed an unmarked path to the summit of Konjščica/Sagranberg from which a wonderful view of the Julian Alps opened up.
Then I returned to the marked path and continued the ascent towards the highest point of the day, the 1965m high Starhand. From there I descended towards Goričanska planina/Gorischacher Alm. This was followed by a descent by road to the starting point. Lp Tadej

I ascended Starhand from Kovk above Ukvama, with skis to Forc. di Fontana Fredda, and into Austria, then I descended to the foresters' hut and up to Gorischacher Alm, and further to the summit. From the summit I skied to Dolinza Alm, and over Lom saddle back to Italy and by road to the starting point. nice winter day.
