I never imagined I'd step on Horse Spike one day. Well, it happens that you visit the peak even if it wasn't really planned.
Our path went over Winkelalm pasture, which features a really cute hut with a red roof you can't take your eyes off. We continued through larch forest that thinned later, increasingly entering boulders, rocks, great views to Torre Clampil and Winkel, hearing piton hammering in Monte Cavallo walls and climbers talking Slovenian. Wonderful cirque leads to gully with ferrata named after alpinist Contin. Stepping on the notch opens new view, first you see Veliki Koritnik, reaching to High Turs.
Ferrata continues with breaks, terrain steep onward. Top is grassy plateau world with cute bell and big stone pile.
Returned toward Aip saddle, spotted red Lomasti bivouac, descended under saddle on rocky path where can't afford clumsiness crossing as everything wobbles, moves. Then up to Madrizze saddle and on to Winkelalm (Kot pasture) and back to parking.
No way I'd say never again!

Hello. I hope Karnics lovers can help me. I'm looking for the name (better yet, description) of the path from Monte Madrizze via Torre Clampil to Horse Peak. I see both paths around, but no description of the selected one anywhere. Unfortunately, I can't get the Karnics guidebook.

As I remember, after ascent via ferrata Clampil we just walked to K Peak and descended past pl Winkel.

Went today to check the situation
Start at 5 from former barracks under renovation, so park on the road. To the hut good 15 min walk, then into forest and steady ascent on well-marked path to ferrata Enrico Contin. Initially forest path gradually turns to scree, but easy to follow. On the flat, see sign splitting Via Schavi and E. Contin, continue straight. In steep section, need to search for marks a bit more focused, but nothing special. Along path branches ferrata to Torre Clampil, we turn left here. (Path similar to me to Luknja)
Ferrata entry around 1900m, cables to 2100m. “Ferrata” is nice, didn't use SVK, nor exposed. Wires good (look newly renovated). At top wonderful plateau. Extended path to Crete di Pricot and checked end of Via Schavi.
Descended via Rudnig saddle then toward Madritchen saddle. Path easy, I shortened a bit at Aquatrail sign and went up to lake.
From lake down at motorcycles (in picture) descended unmarked path using logic to find passage to marked path, which proved super move as follow stream all the way.
12 km and 1100 m elevation gain.
