End of June 2020 we went hiking to Nuvolau and to Cinque Torri. At the border everything was like old times, in the Dolomites extremely few people (otherwise one of the most visited paths), huts were open, even chairlifts (but real mountaineer doesn't need chairlifts ). Practically no snow on the path, only in one spot squeezing between rocks. Take advantage while possible to go abroad, uncertain season awaits. Hike Cinque Torri & Nuvolau

28.7.2022 we chose as starting point the large free parking at rifugio Bai de Dones (1889m), where the lower cable car station is. Direction signs led us to rifugio Cinque Torri (2137m), which goes through forest, for a while also on asphalt road. Before the hut at the info board for the open-air museum of WWI we turned onto the path, walked the trenches and viewed the entire museum, which spreads over a small area near the towers. We reached rifugio Scoiattoli (2255m) and looked to the next rifugio Averau (2413m). From there we climbed easy, gentle rocky terrain to Nuvolau peak, where the namesake hut stands (2575m). On the way we met lots of people, meaning suitable practically for all ages. Returned same way past Cinque Torri hut. Orientation easy. At the towers you can see all listed huts, views from Nuvolau are beautiful. In good weather really nice trip. Walked 13km and spent about five hours.
