Natural Park Fanes-Senes-Braies The starting point for the tour was at the Bad Bergfall inn, a good kilometer from the lower station of the Olang-Valdaora gondola, which goes to Kronplatz, up the valley. It rained overnight, so the path was soggy, the tall grasses and bushes along it no less so, and I myself soon after the start the same. Up to the saddle between the mountains I met only a roe deer, which I barely noticed standing motionless lower in the grasses, and a younger lady, whom I couldn't miss. Khm... The weather high under the saddle was cloudy and foggy, then better, but not flawless. The wind, which was quite strong at the Dreifingerscharte saddle, not before or after, caused no problems; on the descent there was even less of it to cool my overheated face. From the saddle I continued descending to the high alpine lake Le De Fojedöra (Lago de' Colli Alti), where I waved to the cows on the other side and took some rest, during which I of course properly tethered my soul. It's proper and useful, at least for me. First summit, Punta Tre Dita, from behind, as I wanted to make the excursion as circular as possible, anello is anello after all. Summit only mine, like the whole ascent to here and a bit further except the roe deer and the younger lady. Views beautiful despite mists and clouds; I recognized Kronplatz, of course also my apartment much lower, and the town Pieve di Marebbe, where I might head some winter with touring gear. To the next summit, Piz da Peres, it wasn't far; after descent to the saddle, where I arrived in the morning soaked to the knees and now dry as pepper, a bit of ascent awaited me and I was already one of dozens milling more or less near the summit cross of the mountain. Nothing doing, popular peak, fairly easy access, a via ferrata leads under the summit, which was of course mass-visited. Despite the crowd I sat a bit here too, looked around, quenched my thirst, then briskly took to the path and continued the excursion. In the morning I wasn't sure about the weather, so from this summit I had two options for the continuation path, shorter and longer. Since it seemed the weather wouldn't play pranks for a while, I of course chose the longer path and thus descended to the pass Passo Furcia (Ju de Furcia, Furkelpass), which wasn't close at all and from where it was even longer to home. Descent to the ferrata exit crowded, then quite solitary, just as I like it best. Path to the pass wonderful, varied, little meadows, picturesque passages, broken terrain, wild in its own way despite markings, really nice. On the pass a bit along the road to the end of the artificial lake, there I had to use navigation to hit the footpath, as there was no signpost or marking; I found the latter only a bit lower. The footpath later brought me back to the main road, a bit along it, then again down to the trail and tik tak, I was already at the mountain inn Trattes, where I had promised myself a mug of refreshing hop drink. But lo and behold, on the door the sign: "Chiuso, geschlossen". I didn't give up, knocked on the half-open door, asked the friendly lady about the continuation path, because at the end I didn't want an ascent since I had a descent at the start. We looked at their map on the wall and mine on the phone; the trails matched, I memorized where to be careful for the continuation. Then I whined to her that I had been looking forward to a drink, but alas, they were closed... She understood my plight and need, and gladly served me a mug of draft beer, the largest available. Oh, how it went down well; before tilting it, I gratefully stroked it. The further descent I nailed perfectly and after seven and a half hours happily concluded the excellent excursion. Photos from the tour are too many to post all here. At the end of the blog post there is a link to the photo album, here just for the first taste https://tubojan.blogspot.com/2023/07/punta-tre-dita-dreifingerspitz-in-piz.html "track of the hiked path"
