Monte Salinchiet

Starting point hamlet Carbonaris along the road Tablja - Lonice (Pontebba - Cason di Lanza).

Directional sign directs me down to the stream, then across, luckily little water and passable almost everywhere. On the other side I find a small path or trail marked 438, which takes me to Pradulina pasture in less than an hour.

In between I "pop" to Palon di Lius, then return to Pradulina pasture (how Slovenian it sounds) and via direct trail newly sawn and marked to the summit of Monte Salinchiet. Actually two summits, western harder to access, first one such that you think it will collapse any moment and just want to retreat quickly.

Generally all hills around here have large landslides.

Descend to Cuel Mat, entire ridge full of caverns, Cuel also partially fortified, third front line of 1st World War, path nicely freshly sawn. Continue on already known path to former Pezzeit hut and to Rio Secco pasture, then about 2 km road to car to Carbonaris hamlet.

While I was already driving I didn't know where to go and decided there across the border to head to this peak which offers wonderful views. Winter gear stayed in the backpack, in the spruce forest there's still plenty of snow above the bare ground, but steeply to the top.
Starting point of the Lonice pass route but only up to 900m where I park, I don't know what happens next with the road but there might be snow on the road above 1200m.1
