I accessed those pastures at the foot of Bivera by bike, but for the return there are quite a few climbs. I'm looking for the approach from Lower Sauris; has anyone been there? Winter tempts me, of course.

Jovan, the Terze on the other side of the Val Frison valley are wonderful, and Monte Brentoni too.

After seven years again on both summits.
Starting point: pasture Razzo and along the road to pasture Chiansaveit, then up path 212 to Bivera notch, then to the summit, return to the notch and to Clap Savona summit, descent on path 210. Conditions visible from photos less than 24 hours old mežikanje.

The summits were also on our wishlist and since "man proposes but God disposes", not everything went to plan, but nice anyway. We did a circular route and path 212 is much nicer than the return 210. The little path from saddle to Bivera summit is scrambly and partly narrow, requires a bit of care. The ridge to Clapsavon is well protected with thick new-looking rope. Oh, how steep it is wasn't visible...mežikanje

Starting point for this tour is Casera Razzo, located in the "municipality" Comune di Vigo di Cadore, which does NOT belong to Friuli but to Veneto! (thus not Friuli Venezia Giulia but region Veneto, province Belluno).

To the starting point along the Pesarina valley, then from casera Razzo over Clapsavon to Bivera. Descent from the notch below Bivera to Chiansaveit and from there back to the start. Path from Clapsavon to the notch secured with rope and partly exposed, perhaps the tour would be preferable in the opposite direction. I planned it that way (also) because of the memory from autumn 2013. On the path some snow patches easily avoided, no other peculiarities. No crowds on the path, as we only met ourselves, weather also favored us, so views were excellent. Way home through both Sauris with obligatory stop at the dam. Great trip in pleasant company nasmeh

Third time this year starting at Casera Razzo, second time to the mentioned summits. This time in the opposite direction as last time and indeed more pleasant. To the start along the Pesarina valley as it's faster, homeward through Sauris, since can't miss buying prosciutto at Wolf's if we got cheese at the pasture. Coffee break nicer in Sauris gazing at the peaks just toured. No peculiarities on path, shop with goodies open weekends till end of month. Another great trip in pleasant company nasmeh

P.S.
Met a group from Tolmin during the trip. Knowing you visit these pages, greetings from us three mežikanje

By car to Sella di Razzo (direction Sappada along valley), only one hiker, past both pastures no sinking, higher hard/crust combos, sinking up to 30cm. From saddle to summit 2 sections to cross, otherwise dry. Back past both pastures sinking due to strong sun.

Yesterday PD Škofja Loka went to Carnic Alps. Drove to Trbiž then towards Udine. Stopped for coffee on highway at huge rest area with pubs etc. Simply don't know these Italian roads. Climbed to 1760m to pasture Casera Razzo (Casera means dairy in Italian - that's why shortened). Here big hut. Next to it dairy and huge barn. In hut they sell cheese. I even peeked a bit into dairy. Then to next pasture which was actual start - C. Chiansaveit. (turbo said) To here along path 210 leading to Monte Clapsavon. We went
on path 212 to Monte Bivera. About two hours walk awaited us. Partly steep, otherwise path marked and well made/trodden. Crosses several scree fields. Group went a bit slower than usual with large group. Got quite sweaty on narrow summit. Up there cross and wish bell. Then down to saddle and to Monte Clapsavon - walk to next summit a bit over one hour. Ascent steep and even secured. Summit here wide and spacious. Followed almost two-hour descent to start pasture. Lower part path bit muddy - slippery, rained previous day. Anyway conquered two beautiful Carnic summits. Many options for new ones.
Hut on alpine pasture C. Razzo - 1760m.1
2
The barn is nearby. On these pasture, dairy alps livestock is not alone - shepherds are always nearby.3
Dairy. Cheese can be bought in the hut.4
Gathering before departure.5
Along path 210, which actually leads to our second summit.6
We walk a solid hour to our starting point on the second pasture.7
Beehives.8
We cross several springs. Water is not lacking on these pastures.9
Along the way another pasture - C. Mediana. Livestock at night is not on pastures but in barns - large ones or in pens by barns.10
Signposts along this road that runs through the pasture.11
These pastures are alive - dairy.12
The road to the last alpine pasture is concreted all the way up the hill.13
After a good hour we reach the third pasture here - I think this is C. Chiansaveit. This is actually our starting point.14
The pasture along the way seems to be called C. Mediana.15
Now we go along path 212 to the first mountain - Monte Bivero.16
Already above the planina.17
To our first mountain there are about 800m of ascent - not too much.18
Caravan. One third of the hikers went with the guide only to the second mountain - path 210. This was our descent from the second mountain. They were waiting for us up there.19
Snow along the way.20
Across scree and gravel.21
Rest.22
Just before the summit we were suddenly in fog, which however soon cleared up somehow.23
There is little space at the summit - we crowded a bit.24
At the summit there is a cross and a wish bell.25
Under the cross there is also this.26
We are already at the saddle below the first mountain.27
Now towards the second summit.28
The ascent is demanding - it is secured with this rope.29
30
31
32
Towards the summit in fog, which cleared up quite quickly. From the saddle to the summit there is a demanding ascent of a good hour.33
The first ones are already at the top.34
At the summit of Monte Clapsavon - 2462m there is again a cross with a wish bell. One is enough for at least this one to come true.35
Not everyone crowds for the group photo. But it was taken anyway.36
Now down - we had two hours of descent walking.37
38
Aha, this is also a picture from the summit - summit marker. It seems the summit is written differently than I named it.39
We encounter these double markers. I don't know what the one with blue color marks.40
Descent to the alpine pasture - they serve there too - even beer.41
At this time these mountains are full of flowers - rare orchid - wolf's green tongue - who even knows it?42
We even find the Triglav flower we know.43
I show you another flower that smells of chocolate or vanilla - whatever you smell - one of the red gentians.44

It's not Mamaiou. It's Casera Chiansaveit, which has a shelter in the annex where you can sleep. I think it's open only in winter or when there's no activity on the alpine pasture (malghe).

Once you step into the world of the Carnic Alps and feel their mysterious embrace, they enchant you so strongly that your thoughts are bound to them the first time and every time you see those peaksnasmeh.

I once decided to take advantage of every opportunity offered for a hike to their summits. And so at the beginning of the year, when I was reviewing the plan of announced trips of our PD, I pressed two red exclamation marks next to this trip. So I wouldn't miss it by chance, of coursenasmehnasmeh.

But not much is written about these two peaks, completely unknown to me until recently, actually hardly anything, mainly right on this page. But from what was written elsewhere, it was interesting to me that the first ascent to it was made by our Valentin Stanič. He had a sense for beauty, otherwise he probably wouldn't have gone up therenasmeh.

But the weather yesterday wasn't like you want it even at the top, i.e. with wide views and vistas. But already on the way we were given a sense that we were in a beautiful world of green larches, colorful flowers and rocks.

Maybe it was just right that way, so we'll return for the viewsnasmeh.

From Ampezzo to Sauris the road is now closed, detour is arranged via Passo del Pura. From Ampezzo to the tour starting point, good 30 km, you drive one hour on an otherwise asphalted road. Motorcyclists love the road. Classic for Carnians, at the starting point (exemplarily) no parking lot, despite the beautiful mountain surroundings.

On Tuesday on the longest day of the year I was the only visitor on both mountains. First to the saddle between the mountains via path 212, then to Bivera and then also to Clapsavon, from where back via path 210. This direction is perhaps the best or easiest.

No trace of snow anymore. More in the pictures.

Nice, one of the always beautiful tours with views to shout about, if the weather cooperates. About access to the starting point via Pura pass I really never even thought; I always drive there via Val Pesarina.

Yes, it's faster via Pesarina. But since I was already in Ampezzo, I didn't feel like driving back. nasmeh

A person in 15 years also forgets a bit how the path goes, so I was a bit in doubt when we turned at pl Chiansavait onto the path to Bivera. Markings are Bovec-style more or less just the last remnants of paint, but the path is nicely traceable. From the saddle up there are three somewhat less trodden variants. Views from the top were quite limited, so we soon traversed to the neighboring Clapsavon, where fog enveloped us. On the descent already below the scree somewhere around 12h we meet the first hikers. All three alpine pastures nicely arranged and full of cattle. And the obligatory stop in Sauris for a hot drink to concludemežikanje
