...Approach under the rock face of the western ridge. Pleasant scrambling on rocks right from the beginning. But still not quite for those prone to vertigo. Descent on the normal path nasmeh

Yesterday quite a few visitors to Krniške Skale or Gartnerkofel from Mokrin. High starting point and easy access convince everyone. I decided to set off from Möderndorf, specifically from the parking lot before the Garnitzenklamm gorge. An interesting path runs through it, continuing to the Küweger pasture and further to the same-named saddle, where I turned left and scrambled up the western ridge. On the path, except through the gorge (entrance fee 5.30 eur), I met no one, but the summit was massively crowded. I also went to the 41 m lower South summit, where from afar you could hear marmot whistles, cow bells and words occasionally brought by the wind.
The path is in good condition. On the W ridge it's possible to set up protection, as there are some bolts in the middle section, I also saw three prusiks.

There are as many as 9 bridges in the gorge

Yesterday we retirees from PD Škofja Loka section Četrkovci conquered the beautiful peak in Karnics-Gartnerkofel-2195m. In Slovenian it's called Krniške skale (thanks to the Hribi.net portal visitor) who kindly reminded me of the Slovenian name of the mountain.

Start was at Nassfeld at 1601m. Quite some altitude gained. First fog was playing tricks a bit, then light winds drove it away and the sun did its job. Ascent not demanding, nice path. On the way back lots of hikers. On return we watched ferrata climbers with interest. Looked very demanding. Mountain flowers so many that autumn hasn't knocked yet. This year first time saw Triglav flower and lots of other alpine flowers. Only missed edelweiss. As assistant leader -at the end of the line- I could afford extensive photography, and no hiker had issues. It happens that assistant leader has to return with a hiker who has problems halfway to the start.

There are direction signs at intersections.

We spot the ski lift facilities of the ski area. Hikers reach here by chairlift.

Via ferrata climbers are already gearing up. On the way back we saw them on the wall.

This is the neighboring peak with the cross.

For me this would already be too difficult. Even the Četrkovci will do one ferrata -of course easier -next year. We're eyeing the one above Jesenice, but currently there's still too much water there.

I start below the church, on the path at the next junction I stick to the right path which doesn't cross the ski slope, this way you reach the upper station. Since I started hiking late, they had already stopped the chairlift and gondola. A short steep section goes along the edge of the ski slope and then to the Krniške Rocks, there are no avalanche dangers because the snow below the summit has already melted quite a bit. I return the same way.
