7.8.2015 on the summit of Wiesbachhorn. The Kaindlgrat ridge is so clean that ascent to the summit is possible without winter equipment.

On Tuesday from Ferleiten (toll booth of the Glockner road) past the Schwarzenberghütte hut to the bivouac above Gruberscharte, and ascent to Grosser Bärenkopf. Yesterday over Klocker and Hinterer Bratschenkopf to the Teufelsmühlkees glacier and ascent via the west ridge to the summit.

Descent along the ascent route or approach.

Snow and ice are there, there was also some fog, shorter and wider views, cold wind and unpleasant heat in the valley.

Beautiful mountain or even more beautiful than it was 31 years ago on the first ascent via the same route.

Correct name Gr. Wiesbachhorn.

Ascent to the summit from the direction of Kaprun, or from Mooserboden lake past the Heinrich-Schweiger hut is possible without winter gear. Self-belaying recommended.

Janez Seliškar! How to get to the dam from Kaprun. On foot or is there a cableway or some transport. I see there's something on YouTube.nasmeh

Bus goes to the dam on Mooserboden lake.
On foot it's 3h 30min.

From Kaprun to the valley head, the local bus line 660 runs. There is a parking lot, from where the next bus goes to the end of the 1st section of the service-tourist road. There you change to the ground cableway; https://www.verbund.com/de-at/ueber-verbund/besucherzentren/kaprun/laerchwand, which brings you 431 meters higher to the next parking lot. There you change to the next bus, which brings you to the upper lake, 2036 m high. Further only on your own power.

Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th. Conditions for the ascent excellent, shame no footprint in the snow, which would spice the tour a bit. The path logical, well visible and in nice weather you can't miss it. Exposed in places and not for vertigo sufferers. Technical part right above the hut excellently secured with cable, on the rest few protections only where necessary. From lake to hut less than two hours, from hut to summit good two hours. Quite some visitors, rule of thumb about 100 summiteers on a nice day.
Hut needs prior reservation as it's full in good weather. Food good, organization by girls running the hut spot on.
Return ticket for bus-cableway-bus from valley garage house to upper Mooserboden lake bought on the spot, buses and cableway run continuously per schedule.
In short, great tour, recommend. Our team enjoyed.
