On Sunday my wife and I headed to this mountain in Carnia. Except for the first half hour the path runs continuously over bare pastures, so it's not for hot summer days. In Val Sughet valley there's quite some snow, but everywhere it was nicely passable without winter gear. Access from the head of the valley to the saddle and summit requires quite some caution since the ground is more scree. The secured part of the path itself (my estimate) doesn't exceed the difficulty of access from the cable car to Koča na Ledinah. Continuing on Alta Via dei Ruondoi is more interesting and runs over peaks Palantina, Colombere and Tremola. For descent to Piancavallo I was misled by a path at the antennas which soon petered out, so it ended with bushwhacking. Better for the legs to continue on ski slope tracks. See you Sunday when it'll be nice again
