From Mužac to the Bela valleys into the Val Aupa valley and to the village Grauzaria below the mighty Creta Grauzario, and further along a beautiful, steep and asphalted mountain road to the hamlet Badiuz. There we park and go 10 minutes to the next hamlet Borgo di Mezzo. Friendly locals ask if we are heading to Cimodors, which we of course confirm. Along a beautiful trail we ascend through mostly beech forest all the way to the abandoned pasture C.ra Cimadors. There is a nicely arranged bivouac. A short stop follows, then we continue the ascent towards the summit. At the saddle already almost right below the summit a beautiful view opens to the SW face of Crete Grauzarie. When we are on the top after less than 15 minutes, also view to Sernio and of course to all surrounding hillocks and also more serious mountains. Definitely a nice viewpoint worth a visit. We returned along the same path and I would never have expected that someone would recognize me in such a small hamlet as Borgo di Mezzo. And yet Luca recognized me right away, and invited us with Marjeta for a glass. Luca actually lives in Udine, spends free days in the native village of his parents, works in Žlebi and knows me from there.

Yesterday with a friend to Cimadors Alto from Grauzaria via wild path no. 444 (that to sedlo Portonat), in 1 hour 10 min. on somewhat demanding trail (where path turns left and goes up long terrace at places on abyss edge - so wouldn't recommend descent this way/ do loop reverse) we reached wide gully - dry stream "rio di forcje" and then nice ascent among occasional large high rocks (quite good marks and cairns at start), at upper part trail turns bit left into smaller gully and after 2 hours walk from Grauzaria to junction "la forcje" paths 444 and 418/A, now turned left up 418/A on "nice" scree (thank god terrain still frozen and could walk decently on scree, if heat hits you here on this scree ascent - no water - .....) and in 50 min. to another small saddle, here path meets one from Casera Cimadors and 15 min. to top Cimadors Alto as Igor wrote (total 3 good hours from Grauzaria); descent same way as Igor mentioned (now 418/A) to Casera Cimadors, then Borgo di Mezzo to Grauzaria approx 1 hour 50 min (whole loop 5 hours).

hi JAZ, when were you there? beginning of April? we in pic no.2 on descent last chatted with old man as he lives across the basin, before moving to Switzerland for better job he as young helper shepherd on Cimadors pasture where now bivouac and told us how life was back then and how they made cheese and then carried down to Borgo di Mezzo and kept it there (in cellar of that middle house) in storage before sale then down to village Mužec, of course whole transport in basket (ital: gerlo, friulan: gerli) on back.

I remember that heat very well because that Sunday I led CAI ASCA FJK team on snowshoe tour over Vetta Bella-Sagran-Starhand-Uque valley, in short sleeves on all peaks mid January!!! unbelievable. Lp.

The mountain is a nice viewpoint in the immediate vicinity of Grauzaria. We ascended it via the longer variant starting from Mužcu (Moggio). We descended past beautiful villages abandoned after the 1976 earthquake, Moggessa di La and Moggessa di Qua. These alone can be a reason to visit these places. Highly recommend nasmeh.

All in all it came to over 20 km and 1700 m elevation gain. We accessed via paths 420 and 418A, descended via 418A and 418. All paths are mostly nice, fairly gentle and currently snow-free (status 13 January 2019). In the following days some light snow might fall, but at least for visiting Moggessa villages almost certainly no obstacle.

Coordinates of starting point in Mužcu: 46.406757, 13.187596

We picked up the path in the upper part of Moggia. The parking lot is a few hundred meters lower.1
For the ascent we chose path 420, which passes over the Monticello saddle. The tick warning is very appropriate in warm weather and these areas.2
Unusual warning sign. An MTB bike path runs here.3
And this happens if you don't follow the sign :)4
Saddle, junction of several paths5
Immediately above the chapel is the variant for the ascent to Monticello.6
We finished path 420 in the hamlet Borgo di Mezzo, Srednja vas in our terms7
There we looked for the 418A markers to our summit. Most drive here by car8

Descent. Path 444 to Grauzaria village is closed due to a landslide17
We walked mostly on soft, pleasant little paths. Slopes were nowhere too steep18
Along the path ... from the summit we descended path 418A to the village then went on 418 to Morolz19

This is how they ran the power lines across the deep gorge of the *Mill River* to the village Moggessa La. There used to be no road or electricity there24
Rio Mulin25
Moggessa di Qua. Even today there is no road, only a path for horses and mules. In Moggessa La and Qua 700 people lived before the war26
The 1976 earthquake destroyed most of the stone buildings and forced the residents to emigrate. Only a few buildings remained intact27
However, the roots are too strong and some buildings are being renovated even though there is no road to the village28
Old homestead, one of the few that survived the earthquake29
Return to Moggio along path 41830
Path 418. Some sections are gravelled and newly maintained31
No dust. The path is at least good 130 years old, probably much older32
At the Moggessa saddle33
A path leads into the valley, partially concreted due to erosive water.34
Towards Mužec (Moggio)35
Direction sign in the village. To avoid confusion ... Grauzaria here means the village not the hard-to-reach peak above it.36

Twice before it was so flat on Cimadors that the third visit was just a matter of time.
Road from Grauzaria to Badiuz very steep and narrow, always like that, parking at the end of course free. To Borgo di Mezzo I warm up, there I catch the pace and easily make it to the shelter. Refreshment, then further up out, through beautiful beech forest, where due to quite warm day the shade does good. At the notch a bit below the summit peek at Grauzario, then just a little more to the cross. There I leave backpack and step a bit further to the main summit, look around there, then back, where I sit for a nice while under the cross. Soul-binding, time for memories and wishes, viewing surrounding mountains. Solitude and very pleasant meditative feeling, hard to lift the rear and head down to the valley. To the shelter in shade, further to Borgo in sun, quite warm, during descent nice views of surrounding mountains, Tilment, the valley... A bit above the hamlet through forest I take shortcut to the church, there opposite it a trough with running water, so another rest and refreshment there. Then just a little more to the car and across the screen rolled "fine" velik nasmeh
Path passable without issues, markings in place, no traces of last year's fire in the hamlet or on the path.
