Yesterday, we hikers from PD Škofja Loka visited the beautiful canyon Devil's Passage in Gorski Kotar. Above the canyon over the little river Jasna there is a secured path with several small bridges, stairs, railings. Then we climbed up via a circular path to the settlement Skrad and descended to Green Spring. Here is a huge seventy-meter waterfall - it's beautiful. All this water from the waterfall is led through huge pipes to the hydroelectric power plant, which has been operating since 1926 and was the first power plant in Gorski Kotar. The path is currently dry. The safety features in the upper part of the path towards Skrad are unfortunately in poor condition. Great caution is needed. For viewing you have to pay 25 kunas.

In this video I take you on an unforgettable journey through one of the most beautiful natural treasures of Gorski Kotar – the natural park Green Spring, which lies right on the border with Slovenia, near the town of Skrad. We will walk through the stunning canyon Devil's Passage, about 800 meters long, where the Jasle stream breaks through dramatic rock walls, sometimes only two meters wide. The path leads through galleries and bridges carved into the live rock – a real treat for the eyes and soul!

At the end of the path awaits a breathtaking sight: a 70-meter high waterfall that plunges from a mighty rock overhang in front of the entrance to a mysterious cave, where the Green Spring originates.
