On the last Saturday in May, we headed to places where before the epidemic we had some great outings and where we also sharpened claws with the princess. The idea was of course hers; I initially aimed higher, above Platak, then grabbed her suggestion with both hands. Why not? It was still excellent, although I already grumbled sometimes when I couldn't get out of the bushes we "got into", or after eight or more hours of walking, looking at the next peaks and debating whether just the next one or all that follow in the ridge. Great memories, may there be more of them.
The starting point was the parking under Kamenjak; we went straight along the road towards Platak and a bit above the intersection we left the road. There was a sign "Ulica Štab"; along the macadam we came to ruins and soon after them hit a marked trail. On it we ascended a few hundred meters, then in the forest hit a small path, probably a game trail, which led us under the rocky face of Bogdin. Great scrambling to the ridge and along it to the top. Excellent rock that reminded her of Paklenica and me of lonely coves of Adriatic islands. It pulled like crazy, gale-force wind in the true sense of the word; we swayed and rocked on the ridge like after a few rounds from the tavern. Lower it was a bit better; on grasses we leisurely approached the indistinct little summit of Rebra and below it found some shelter. Short rest, chat, refreshment, then happily back to work, so feet on the path and up towards Jazvina. Meadows, rocks, karst world, whistling wind, views to the sea and islands, also to peaks hiked years ago, divine, really almost heaven on earth. The ridge to Jazvina I hit somewhere in the middle; I was wandering those grassy fields, she was lower, at the start. The further path was visible from the top like on the palm of the hand: on one side peaks within reach, could throw a stone on them with a bit of imagination, on the other neither close nor completely easy path to them (no path really, more game trails and scree). Through the shattered world we stepped to the road that goes to Platak, and beyond it continued to the next peaks. The area here is called Krežala; the next few elevations we visited have no names on the map, only contours with height. The wind just didn't subside, whistling around the ears, it was joy. Real concert all from Bogdin up and down. The top of the first elevation was a pole with wind vanes, probably a weather station; the top of the second just an iron stake. To the last peak, under which there is a bunker and to which almost a mulatiera leads, awaited us a descent along a great ridge, for me probably the nicest part of the already wonderful tour. Scrambling down we came below the last peak; there is a junction where we later returned and from there descended to the car. To the bunker along the so-called mulatiera casually, then along unstable rocks carefully ascended to the top, then to the neighbor, maybe even higher, and there last time panoramic as the eye allowed. A bit back to the already known path, then down out to the main road and along it a little up to the car. In Čavle, as always so far, analysis of the tour, past events and pondering future outings. Bottom line drawn, more than excellent
