Access to the starting point:
From Zatolmin take the road to Javorca, drive only 2 km to the Triglav National Park sign, where you can park 2-3 vehicles.
Path description:
Start at the entrance to TNP Triglav and head uphill by the church, past House Zatolmin 73 A. You will soon reach the road. Continue along the road, I recommend that you also take the next shortcut (if there is lush vegetation, be careful to find it), which branches off to the left from the road (if you continue along the road, the path will be a little longer). The path leads you back to the road, where you will soon reach the chapel and the World War I cemetery. It takes about one hour to get here. After the chapel, look for an unmarked path leading uphill. Follow this fairly well-traced, steep track through the forest until you reach the meadow below the top of Vodel. The path does not lead to the top, but a few metres below the top, on the grassy part, there is a signing-in book and a beautiful view of the Soča valley. Just under an hour from the chapel.
We continue along the 'sheep track', as the locals say, partly through pastures, partly through the forest, through numerous cattle barriers (always closing them behind us), initially on the right side of the hill, and at mountain pasture we cross over to the Soča side; the path takes us through the forest to Grmuč, where we see the first markings. We arrive on a less good road, which we follow to the right; the road leads us to mountain pasture Prtovč, from where we climb to Mrzli vrh. Descend to mountain pasture Prtovč along the same path, for the descent I recommend the shaded road, with great views of the Bohinj Mountains, Javorca and mountain pasture Polog, to the junction with Kapelica, where you descend again along the unmarked, well-known path to the car. It may take two and a half hours to descend.

Danes prehojena pot čez Vodel vrh iz Zatolmina. Dan krasen. Od cerkvice do Vodel vrha sva šla po strmi poti, kjer se strmina ne poleže. Nadaljevala po levi strani po označeni poti , ki je prav grebenska do Mrzlega vrha. Razgledi z vrha krasni. Skoro brezvetrje. Tam okrog Krna se je slišal zvok plazov.

Z vasice Gabrje danes v krasnem dnevu , mimo mlina in slapov Sopotnice . Potem sva zavila na grebensko pot . Do vrha. Kjer je bilo povsem mirno. Sestopila po isti poti. Le v zadnjem delu sva šla v vas Dolje in potem še km po cesti do vozila.

V nedeljo po opisani poti na Vodel vrh in po grebenu na Grmuč, s tem da gor hodil po J-JV pobočju Mrzlega vrha in se višje priključil markirani J-JV poti ki gre po grebenu. Po tej grebenski sestopil, je označeno vse do Zatolmina.
