Access to the starting point:
a) From the Ljubljana - Maribor motorway, take the Žalec exit and then continue in the direction of Velenje. At the main roundabout (2nd roundabout) in Velenje, under the ski jump, continue straight on (2nd exit) in the direction Šoštanj - Mozirje.
Turn left at the traffic lights and then immediately right into the parking lot, where parking is free.
b) From Koroška, take the first exit to Slovenj Gradec and then continue towards Velenje. At the main roundabout (1st roundabout) in Velenje, under the ski jump, turn right (1st exit) in the direction Šoštanj - Mozirje.
Turn left at the traffic lights and then immediately right into the parking lot, where parking is free.
Path description:
From the parking lot, walk back towards the roundabout under the ski jump along the parallel street through Stari trg.
After 100 m you will reach a crossroads and turn right. After another 100 m you will see a small hairdresser's parking lot and steps on the left side of the road and the start of the trail to Velenje Castle.
A wide path leads in serpentines to the top of the castle. There is no view on the path because it is surrounded by trees.
