Access to the starting point:
From the road Idrija - Most na Soči, in the settlement Slap ob Idrijci turn right (from Most na Soči turn sharp left) in the direction of the settlements Ponikve, Šentviška Gora and Pečine. Continue ascending, following the signs for Šentviško Gora at the crossroads. When you arrive in the above-mentioned settlement, park in a suitable place near the parish church of St. Vida.
Path description:
Go around the church on the right and the cemetery on the left and continue along the asphalt road towards Gorski Vrh. After the last houses, the asphalt ends and the road gradually becomes a bit steeper. Higher up, the road makes two serpentines and leads us past the chapel to an asphalt road, which we follow to the right. Follow the asphalt road for a few minutes, then turn left at the crossroads towards the village of Ponikve and Gorski Vrh (straight ahead Bukovo Vrh and Police).
After the crossroads, the road is laid, then starts to climb steeply and leads us past the Travnikar homestead, and a little higher still leads us to the next crossroads.
The road continues to the left towards the settlement of Ponikve, a path leads straight ahead to Črvov vrh, and we go right in the direction of the settlements Bukovo Vrh and Bukovo gaja. We continue along the macadam road, which leads us a little further on past another house, and then we climb a small pass from which we continue straight down (Bukovo grove and Črvov vrh on the left). There is a descent with fine views, and a little beyond the serpentine we gradually reach a partly marked crossroads, from which we go left.
Just after the crossroads you reach the next crossroads, from which you go right, and then the crossing to the farmhouse at Pirc begins.
Go around the farm buildings on the left and then onto a grassy path that continues between pasture fences. When you reach an undistinguished ridge, continue along the pasture fence that runs along the ridge and within a few minutes of further ascent you reach the Bukovo summit.
