Soriška peč - Krekova koča na Ratitovcu

Access to the starting point:
a) From Podrošto or Petrovo Brda, drive to Sorica, and from there continue to Soriška mountain pasture. When you get to the 6 km road marker, you will see a cross on your left just before the cross, and a few metres further on, there is a suitable parking space on your right.
b) Take the road to Bohinjska Bistrica, then continue driving in the direction of Tolmin and Sorisca mountain pasture. When you reach the large parking lot at the Soriška ski slope mountain pasture, start descending towards Soriška. After about 1 km of descent, we will come to a more distinct right turn, in the middle of which the marked path to Ratitovec branches off to the left, and we park here in a convenient place by the crossroads, on the left-hand side of the main road.

Path description:
From the parking lot, head towards the speed limit sign, where you will see mountain signs directing you to the right to cart track. Continue ascending the gently ascending cart track, which soon leads to a hunting lodge.
Continue on the cart track, which passes slightly further on to a forest road which is followed for only a short time, as it quickly leads to a crossroads. Continue in the direction of Ratitovec along the cart track, which turns into a pleasant mountain path at a slightly higher altitude. Higher up, the path leads to a wide, slightly vegetated ridge, which is part of the Danjarska mountain pasture. The pleasant path, which runs through gently sloping meadows, descends a little further and leads us into the forest. The path through the forest turns slightly to the left and, after a short climb, leads out of the forest to mountain pasture Zgornji Jirn (near the shepherd's hut).
Continue slightly right along a grassy slope surrounded by dense forest. The meadow then ends and the path leads into the aforementioned forest through which it begins to descend. A slightly steeper ascent follows and the path leads us out of the forest onto the western slopes of the vast Ratitovec. The ascent continues along a gently ascending path, which runs along a wide and scenic ridge. Higher up, the path crosses a grazing fence behind which you will see some remnants of the World War (bunkers, caverns, etc. ) along the way.
The trail then continues with a few short descents and ascents at the foot of the inexpressive peaks of Ratitovec (Kremant 1658m, Altemaver 1678m - the highest peak of Ratitovec). From the pleasant trail, we then already see the Krekovo hut to which we are separated only by a slight descent and then climb past the winter bivouac to the above-mentioned hut.
