Poštarski dom pod Plešivcem - Uršlja gora (Plešivec) (via Kal)

Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Ljubljana - Maribor take the exit Žalec, then follow the road towards Velenje, where at the main roundabout in the middle of the town turn right towards Slovenj Gradec. In Slovenj Gradec, near the petrol station, turn left towards Podgorje, Sele and Ravne na Koroškem. Continue along the regional road towards Ravne na Koroškem, then at Vrhe turn left towards Sele and the Church of St. Roko. From the church, continue along the asphalted road, which lane takes you just a little higher to a crossroads where a road branches off to the left, leading to the Postman's Home. Follow the local road to the right at the first crossroads and to the left at the second crossroads (both in the direction of the Postman's Home). Follow the local road all the way to the Postman's Home, where you can park in the parking lot near the Postman's Home.
b) First drive to Ravne na Koroškem and from there continue to Kotlje and then on to Slovenj Gradec. After a small road pass, where the road is laid, turn right after the bus station in the direction of the settlement of Sele. Continue along the slightly narrower road leading to the settlement, and after the settlement join the road leading past the Church of St. Roko (join the road described in a). Follow the road to the right, and a little further on at the marked crossroads turn left in the direction of the Poštarski dom (Postman's Home). When you reach the Postman's House, park in a suitable place next to the mountain house.

Path description:
From home, continue along the road in the route Uršlja gora towards the path over Kal. The road, which initially climbs through the forest, soon leads us to meadows where we reach the last houses in the village. After the last house, the road turns into cart track, which has a fork at the very beginning. Take the bottom left-hand cart track, which starts to descend slightly. After a short descent, the path soon begins to climb and, at a slightly higher level, turns into a footpath which climbs even more steeply. The path then crosses a minor road and reaches a large meadow on the other side of the road.
Continue along the right-hand side of the meadow, where you will soon see a path leading into the wods. The path, which is quite overgrown in places (in summer), leads us in a moderate ascent to a forest road, where we continue to the right. Follow the road for only a few minutes to a crossroads, where you turn right on cart track towards Uršlje Gora. Follow Cart track, which rarely climbs steeply, to where a footpath branches off to the right. After a minute's walk, a short path leads to a road, which we just cross. The ascent is resumed by following cart track, mostly gently uphill. The cart track slowly turns into a footpath, which leads to water, which dries up in dry periods. The path then becomes cart track again, which leads to a forest road, where you continue to the right to a point where you turn right again onto a footpath. The way forward leads us in a few steps to a crossroads where we join the path from lake Ivarčko and the other path from our starting point.
Continuing straight ahead, the path soon leads us back to the forest road. After a short walk along the road, a footpath to the top of Uršlje Gora branches off at a left turn to the right. The forest along the way then becomes increasingly sparse, so that we open up beautiful views of the surrounding area. A few steps before the lodge, the path leads back to the road, which you follow to the Uršlja Gora Lodge.
From the house, continue along the path between the church and the house, towards the transmitters. The path passes the transmitters on the left and ascends in a gentle ascent to the cross at the top of the mountain. Description and figures refer to the situation in 2007 (May).
