Kovinarska koča v Krmi - Debela peč (hunting path)

Access to the starting point:
Leave the Gorenjska motorway at the Hrušica exit and follow the road towards Kranjska Gora. Just before the village of Dovje, the road branches off to the left and leads to Mojstrana (Vrata, Kot and Krma). Follow the road in the direction of the village of Radovna and the valleys of Krma and Kot. The relatively steep road then takes us past a TNP signboard, after which the road soon lays down and leads to a crossroads where the macadam road to the valley of Kot branches off to the right. Continue straight ahead on the road, which begins to descend. In the middle of the descent, the road to the Krma valley branches off to the right (straight ahead Radovna). A little further on, you come to the next crossroads, where you continue to the right in the direction of Krma. The macadam road then leads to Kovinarska hut. Park in front of the hut in the parking lot.

Path description:
Behind the hut, the hunting trail begins. The trail winds straight up the right bank of the ravine below the Debelo Peć. At first the path runs parallel to the ravine, but later it veers a little more to the right and winds in keys along the forest's back. Keep to the most beaten track. The path lays down a little, then crosses a stream, on the left cairn directs us to continue along the stream, then left on the path. The hunting trail makes a long bend to the left, then cross the stream again. A view of the north face of Debele Peć opens up. The trail winds between dwarf pines and the grass and, higher up, gets quite close to the wall. At the wall the path turns to the right (eastwards). The path runs parallel to the wall. When you reach the trees, the path rises and falls a few more times. Soon we see a parallel path about twenty metres below us, just in front of a wider gully ahead. Follow the poorly beaten track down to the path below. Continuing on the upper path is much more challenging - when crossing the next gully. Cross two ravines on the lower path and continue along the path to the main ravine. The trail almost disappears here, with only traces here and there. Ahead, on the left, you can see water flowing over a jump. Walk along the wall, catching a bad trail a little further right. After the easiest passages you reach a scree field with scattered boulders. Bear slightly left upwards, with some cairns to help you. Higher up, get below the jump and climb over it. The first jump is the hardest (II). Above the jump, the gully flattens out a bit, followed by walking along the thickened gully, easier climbing and climbing over the jump twice more. The rock is crumbly. Above the last jump the gully opens up. Bear slightly more to the left, following the rubble to reach the scree. At first we find some cairns to help us, then we move by feel on the easiest passages (avoiding dwarf pines). Soon we see a marked path. When you reach the path, turn left. Follow the marked path for another 20 minutes to the top of Debele Peć.
