Access to the starting point:
a) First drive to Kranjska Gora, then continue driving to Ratečeam. When you reach the roundabout near Rateč, take the exit towards Planica. After a few more climbs, you will arrive at a large parking lot next to the Nordic Centre Planica, where you will park in a pay parking lot. The price for cars is 2,5 EUR / day (March 2019).
b) Drive through Border crossing Rateče into Slovenia, then turn right towards Planica. There is a bit of a climb and we arrive at a large parking lot next to the Nordic Centre Planica, where we park in the pay parking lot. The price for cars is 2,5 EUR / day (March 2019).
Path description:
From Planica follow the dirt road to Dom v Tamarju, before the road splits into two parts. Continue along the road slightly to the right in the direction of the footpath towards Tamar (slightly to the left is a carriageway, but closed to public traffic).
The path continues along the road which passes the last parking lot of NC Planica and turns into a forest, which is converted into a cross-country skiing track in winter. The ascent is along a winding road, mostly through the forest, but when the path leaves the forest, there are peepholes along the way with signs indicating what can be seen. Higher up, the forest often thins out or is abandoned for a while, opening up beautiful views of the mountains rising above Planica and Tamar. When we are quite close to Dom v Tamarju, we get a wonderful view of Jalovec and the trail splits.
Continue slightly to the left (slightly to the right is the source of the Nadiža spring) and a minute or so further on, join the carriage road and pass the chapel to reach the mountain lodge.

Danes sem po dolgem času spet obiskal Tamar.. prijetna pot,zimska idila  snega sicer ni veliko,okoli 15-20cm.. pot sem podaljšal še do Črne vode kjer so skalne stene vse v ledu tam kjer teče voda. Vmes je tudi pošteno zagrmelo ko se je utrgal plaz mislim da z Visoke Ponce. Zanimivo za vidit,slap snega je padal čez steno okoli 1 minuto
