Description of mountain: The lake is located on the Austrian side of Wolayer pass beneath the mighty Monte Cogliansa and Monte Capolago. On the north side of the lake there is a cottage Wolayerseehutte (used to be called Eduard Pichl Hutte) and just a few meters bellow the saddle on the Italian side there is a cottage Rifugio Lambertenghi Romanin.
