Gilbert cottage is located on the northern Italian side of Kanin, namely the White pečjo and severe Vršič. From the cabin, or its surrounding is a lovely view of the already-mentioned two peaks, Prestreljenik and his window, Lopo and the Montaževo group of mountain. Near the cabin is well above the ski station of lift Sella Nevea (Nevejski PREVAL), which gives access to the huts reduced (from the ski lift to the cabin is only 5 minutes).
