Zgornja Dobrava - Castle Lipniški grad (Pusti grad above Lipnica) (via Zjavka and through Galerije)

Access to the starting point:
a) Take the Podbrezje exit (to get here from the Gorenjska motorway, take the Naklo or Tržič exit), then follow the signs for Kropa. At Lipnica, do not take the Lipnica exit to Kropa, but continue driving to the right towards Kamna Gorica. A little further on, leave the main road and turn right towards Zgornja Dobrava. After about 500 metres of ascent, we reach Zgornja Dobrava, and we drive on for another 100 metres to a junction on a small pass, where the road to Srednja Dobrava branches off to the right. At this junction, the footpath described above begins, but there are no parking spaces. You can park lower down on the road, or higher up on the part of the path description.
b) Leave the Gorenjska motorway at exit Radovljica, then take exit Mošnje and continue towards the village of Globoko, where you will also cross the Sava River. When you reach Mišače, continue straight on towards Zgornja Dobrava, and in Zgornja Dobrava you will reach a crossroads where the road to Srednja Dobrava branches off to the left. At this junction, the footpath described above begins, but there are no parking spaces. You can park lower down on the road, or higher up on the part of the path description.

Path description:
From the crossroads, take the road that continues north-west (the opposite road from the one leading to Srednja Dobrava), which initially takes you past the goat house and along the beautiful views of Jamnik. When the asphalt ends, we see signs for Ojstra peč, which directs us to a forest road, from which we soon turn right at an unmarked junction onto the wide, initially still passable cart track. Cart track is soon joined on the right by the path from Mišače, and we continue straight ahead on the gradually narrower cart track, which continues with a few short ascents and descents. After about 20 minutes of walking we reach the next marked crossroads where we continue in the route Zjavka (slightly right Ojstra peč 1 minute).
From cart track which we follow, a few steps further on, a wider path branches off to the right (the path leading further towards Pusti grad, Fuxova brv - the path which bypasses Zjavka), and we continue on cart track which continues with some short ascents and descents. After a few minutes, cart track splits, and we continue once more on the left-hand cart track. Cart track descends a little further and then climbs to the Zjavka lookout.
After the "woodshed" at Zjavka, continue right and start to descend transversely. After a few minutes of descending, you will reach a small cross, where there is a marked crossroads.
From the crossroads, continue straight ahead towards the nature trail Pusti grad (Fuxova brv and Radovljica on the right, Kamna Gorica on the left). After a few steps, the path splits again and we continue along the right path, which quickly takes us to the Galleries (the slightly left path bypasses the Galleries and is slightly shorter). There follows an interesting path through the Galleries, where in springtime, in addition to the hellebores and the large bellflower, we can also spot the rather rare Anemone trifolia, which can quickly be confused with the much more common underwood anemone, which also grows in the Galleries. After the "window to the world", the path turns slightly to the left and leads to an undistinguished ridge, where we return to the better-beaten path that bypasses the Galleries.
After the junction of the above-mentioned path, we leave the forest and the path leads us across the hayfield to the settlement Zgornja Lipnica, where at the crossroads we follow the signs for Pusti grad. Walk along the dirt road, which after a few minutes is joined by another path from the Fux footbridge. Continue along the road, which then leads to the next houses, where at the crossroads you again follow the signs for Pusti grad. Behind the last house, a fine view of the route to the Alps opens up, and then, as we re-enter the forest, we arrive at a crossroads where a short path branches off to the left, leading to Pusti grad. From the crossroads, Pusti grad is reached after a further walk of about one minute.
