Završnica (Pri žagi) - Tolsti vrh (at Poljška planina) (via saddle Kališča)

Access to the starting point:
a) From Motorway Ljubljana - Jesenice take exit Lesce, then follow the signs for Žirovnica. Continue along the old road to Jesenice, which leads to Žirovnica, where you turn right and follow the signs for Završnice and Valvasorjev dom. When the road to Valvasor's House turns left, continue straight ahead and continue along the Završnice valley. Follow the road to a marked crossroads at an altitude of 890 metres, where you can park at a suitable place at the crossroads.

b) Take the Jesenice exit and then continue along the old road towards Lesce. Turn left at the end of Polje and follow the signs for Završnica and Valvasorjev dom. When the road to Valvasor's House turns left, continue straight ahead and continue along the Završnice valley. Follow the road to a marked crossroads at an altitude of 890 metres, where you can park at a suitable place at the crossroads.

Path description:
From the crossroads, continue along the right-hand road in the route Sankaška koča (slightly to the left Tinčkova koča, Dom pri izviru Završnice and Dom na Zelenici), where you cross the Završnica stream just over the bridge. Continue cross-climbing, crossing a few streams in between. Higher up, the trail gently descends and then climbs moderately to the Kališča pass, where it reaches the marked Begunje - Poljška mountain pasture trail.

Leave the road at the pass and continue left in the direction of Poljška mountain pasture and Roblek's home (straight down the unmarked path to Begunje through the Blatnice gorge, St. Peter's on the right).

The path climbs steeply and gradually descends to a ridge at higher altitudes. Walk along the ridge for a few minutes, then the path widens to cart track, and after a short descent to a worse road. The Tolsti vrh crossing follows, and on the other side of the summit is a crossroads of several unmarked paths.
Continue sharp right (straight Tomčeva koča for 3 minutes) onto an unmarked path which continues along the ridge of Tolstego vrh. During the ascent, a beautiful view opens up to the right towards Stolu, and then the path returns to the forest and leads to the highest point of Tolstega vrh.
