We drive to Tržič and then towards Jelendol. We come to a triangular crossroads where we turn to left and asphalt ends after couple of metres. We keep on driving on a forest road towards Šija mountain pasture (marks). There is a parking lot at a shelte on Šija mountain pasture.

On the parking lot we find the markings for Kačja pot. The starting part isn’t marked so we follow the ascending path which leads through the forest, brush and grass to the road from Kofce carefully. Here the path steepens and leads us partly over and party under the ridge to the summit of mountain Kofce. The path so far should take about 1h15min.here we turn west and follow the ridge path, which descends slightly. The path is exposed somewhat occasionally, and soon starts to ascend to the top of Malo Kladivo.
