Access to the starting point:
a) From the Ljubljana - Maribor motorway, take the Žalec exit and then continue in the direction of Velenje. At the main roundabout (2nd roundabout) in Velenje, under the ski jump, continue straight on (2nd exit) in the direction Šoštanj - Mozirje. Turn left at the traffic lights and then immediately right into the parking lot, where parking is free.
b) From Koroška, take the first exit to Slovenj Gradec and then continue towards Velenje. At the main roundabout (1st roundabout) in Velenje, under the ski jump, turn right (1st exit) in the direction Šoštanj - Mozirje. Turn left at the traffic lights and then immediately right into the parking lot, where parking is free.
Path description:
From the parking lot, head towards the main roundabout along the parallel street through Stari trg. After 100 m, you will come to a crossroads and turn right. After another 300 m, the sign for Velenje Castle directs you left onto the road uphill. Follow the road and the signs for Velenjski grad. After a few minutes' walk, you will first reach the parking lot and a little further on the castle.
