In Tarvisio we orient on a highway towards Udine. We leave the highway at Carnico and we keep following marks towards Tolmezzo and then we follow marks towards Austria and pass Pso di Croce Carnico / Plockenpass. When we come to this pass we descend to Austrian side pass cottage Plocken Haus. Soon a road towards cottage Untere Valentinalm branches to left. There is a smaller parking lot.

At the cabin we turn towards the marked mountain road next to the Valentinalm in Wolayer See. The road is quite level and is closed to public vehicles. Se soon leave the road and turn right to a path, which occasionally crosses the road, and after about an hour reaches the Obere Valentinalm from which there is a marvelous view of the northern cliff face, the Rauchkofel (2460m) and the Kellerspitzen (2769m).
