Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Jesenice motorway, take the Lesce exit and follow the road to Bled and on to Bohinjska Bistrica. Continue driving towards Lake Bohinj (Ribčev laz), at which you will come to a crossroads, where you will continue straight along the left (south) side of the lake in the direction of Ukanec and the Savica waterfall. Follow this road to the lower station of the funicular to Vogel, then buy a ticket and take the cable car to the upper station, which is the starting point for our tour, unless we shorten it further (by 30 min) by taking the four-seater to Orlov glave. The chairlift is also open in the summer season.
Path description:
The route passes the Vogel Ski Hotel, the Merjasec mountain hut and down the ski slope past the Storeč station and the four-seater chairlift leading to the Eagle's Heads (there is also the option of a chairlift shuttle, which shortens the route by 30 minutes). The route then passes under the four-seater chairlift to the upper station of the Eagle's Heads. Here it continues under the chairlift to the upper station of Šija. The route initially follows a transport road for the ski resort, but soon narrows to a footpath. At the edge of the Šija - Last Vogel ski slope (i. e. just before the steepest section of all the slopes on the Vogel ski slope), turn right and cross the ski slope and continue in a westerly direction below the slopes of Šija. At the next crossroads one can continue along the upper ridge path (difficult) or along the slightly longer lower easy path, which starts to descend and turns slightly right, giving one the feeling of going the wrong way. Soon the path from the upper station of the double chairlift "Last Vogel" joins. Here the path continues to the left and then descends a little further. The path then picks up its rhythm and starts to climb gently. A little further on, there is a crossroads where there is a signpost for Vogel, which is followed up the path. The path starts to climb here and soon rejoins the difficult path and in the next steps leads to the Vrata or Vratca notch, which is the second lowest point between Primorska and Gorenjska, from Mangart to Črna Prsta (after Vršič). The path then leads along a ridge which is steep and difficult, but well protected. The path then crosses the slopes and leads to the crossroads for Vogel, from which it continues straight towards Konjski sedlo, which is reached by a scenic and gentle path.
Exactly one fine bend of a few hundred metres before Konjski sedlo, namely below Rušnati vrh (1915 m), the marked path leaves and heads up a steep bank to a ridge (partly difficult trackless path). On the ridge, to the left is Rušnati vrh, directly below the view towards the sea, and to the right along the ridge runs an unmarked path which reaches Mejo (1996 m) in the final stage on the south side of the rocky ridge.
The unmarked trail to Vrhu nad Škrbino follows a beautiful ridge. From Meje, the path first descends and then begins to climb towards the finish. The last part of the trail is at most partially difficult in a few places.
From Vrch nad Škrbino you have to carefully follow the path westwards for the first few metres (carefully, as there is also a path to the SW). Further on you have to descend a good 100 metres on a very difficult protected path to Škrbina.
The trail then crosses the slopes below Vrhom Konte and then below Podrto gora, climbing gently westwards the whole way. When the trail is relatively close to the Green Peak and reaches its unmarked maximum, and the slope to the right is alluvial, it is best to turn off to the trackless trail up a steep bank (on a grassy tongue). Bear left from the summit and first cross the ridge, which is then followed to the summit. It is also possible to go directly along the bank and over the rocks to the top, but this approach is a shade more difficult. It is not without some light scrambling. From the top you have a beautiful view of Lake Bohinj and the Triglav kingdom.
You can return via Škrbina and Konjski sedlo back to the start of the route.

Ravno včeraj sva hodila pod Podrto goro. Iz smeri Vrh nad Škrbino proti Tolminskemu Kuku. Ime podrta še kako drži. Namreč pod njo so sedaj trije podori. Velika skala se je nedavno okrušila.
