Path description:
On the right side of the road (in direction of the driving) an unmarked path to bivouac on Jezera appears by the stream backwards from the parking place. At first, the path is hard to follow, but as we reach a stream and follow the right side of the bank, this task becomes easy again. The path rises through a valley until it is blocked by a small rock wall, where we usually also find a spring. We take a right and follow the path over natural passages (the path is not protected and is a bit exposed). If there is enough water we reach a small waterfall and the path continues here on a scree, where walking becomes a bit uncomfortable, because the storms tend to ruin the path every year. On the left side we can see the Slovenian Matterhorn (when we see it, we understand the name), the road than goes to the left side of the scree, but in about 10 minutes, we can see it again. We encounter a real rubbish dump (cans, helicopter parts...) and only a few minutes later we see the bivouac on the left, where we can spend the night or just use it as a shelter in case of a storm (if we are not paying attention it can be quickly behind us). Path is slowly disappearing but we can still follow it. We walk on a meadow called Na Jezerih (sometimes used to be a lake here). We can soon lay eyes on not a really inviting narrow steep passage. Our goal is now a saddle between Srednji Rokav and Visoki Rokav. Path on a narrow steep passage is very dangerous and sometimes covered with ice. You must use crampons, ice-picks, helmets and if you aren't good climber also a mountain guide. Path is full of slither sand. Be careful. When we step on the saddle the view on a Škrlatica opens. We continue on the right couple of ten metres under the saddle (towards Jezerci) and we see a fireplace. Path from saddle to the top reaches 3. level demandness of climbing. I dissuade you climbing to the top without a mountain guide. When we reach the top after some serious climbing the joy isperfect. But you must know that a harder descent is waiting for you. The view from the highest top in Slovenia without a path is one of he most beautiful in our mountains.
