Access to the starting point:
Leave the Štajerska motorway at the Šempeter exit, then follow the signs for Polzela. Cross Polzela and follow the main road, then at the pizzeria and the AS caffe restaurant turn right onto Pot na Vimperk 3-16. Continue past individual houses and then the asphalt road starts to climb more visibly. At the Cizej-Sevšek farm, you will arrive in the Podvin pri Polzeli settlement, where you will turn right at the crossroads, and a little further on, you will arrive at a parking lot, where you will park.
Path description:
From the parking lot, continue in the route Gora Oljka and follow the asphalt road. First walk through the forest, then pass a few houses. The road leads to a marked crossroads where a road branches off to the left towards the birthplace of Neže Maurer and the road to Gora Oljka passes the house, and we continue straight on. A little further on, we leave the asphalt road, as the signs for Gora Oljka direct us left to cart track, which initially leads us along the edge of the meadow, then turns right and takes us into the forest. Walk through the woods for a few minutes, following the signs, and when you reach a narrow asphalt road, cross it to the left. There is a short, slightly steeper climb, and then you reach another road, where you continue to the right (here you join the "upper" path and the path past the birthplace of Neže Maurer).
The way ahead leads us along beautiful views, and higher up, by the former Jug inn, we join the way from Podgora and one of the ways from Andraz nad Polzela.
We continue along the road, when we see the signs for Gora Oljka pointing left to the footpath, we continue along the road, leaving the road a few minutes higher up, where small steps and markings point us to the footpath. There is a cross-climb through the forest, and when you reach cart track, bear right. A little further on, cart track joins the road, but we leave it a few steps earlier and continue slightly left, joining the road a little higher up, and only for a few steps, as the signs then lead us left into the forest again. Quickly join the wider path, which you follow to the left, and at the crossroads of the marked paths, go right, then quickly climb up to the Mountain House on Gora Oljka, from which you climb the stairs up to the Church of St. Križ.

Discussion about the trail Podvin pri Polzeli - Gora Oljka (lower path)

Po jutranjih nevihtah sva se po tej poti vzpela na Goro Oljko, vrnila pa sva se mimo kužnega znamenja in čez Vimperk. Čez dan se je hitro razjasnilo in začelo postajati vedno bolj vroče. Prijeten izlet pred začetkom šolskega leta.
