MHE Zali potok - Tegoška planina

Access to the starting point:
Drive to Tržič, then drive through Dovžanovo gorge and Dolina to Jelendol. In Jelendol at Borna manor house, continue straight on, then follow the main road to the next forest road turn-off to the left, which is located by the Zali potok Hydroelectric Power Station. Park in a suitable place at the crossroads.

Path description:
From the main road, cross Tržiška Bistrica, then pass the MHPP building and continue along a relatively steep forest road. The road continues along the left side of the Zala Stream, a stream with two waterfalls higher up. Higher up, we reach the lower edge of the mountain pasture Zali brook, where the road ends, and we pass the first hut on the right.
The path continues along cart track, choosing the wider cart track at the forks. After a few minutes, a fairly steep cart track joins from the left, passing the first hut on the left, and we continue along cart track to the next hut, which is located on mountain pasture Zali brook.
Continue straight on, and cart track leads into a slightly more sparse forest, where it splits. The recognisably wider cart track turns left and leads to and over a stream, and we continue straight on the steeper cart track. A little higher, when cart track becomes more grassy, we reach the next crossroads where we continue sharp right on the grassy cart track (following cart track straight ahead we can reach the Shelter on mountain pasture of Shija). Cart track first climbs transversely to the right, then makes a left serpentine and continues to climb transversely to the left. At a higher level, the cart track turns right into a dense forest. Here, follow a small valley from which bear slightly right along an overgrown track. Quickly exit the forest and follow the overgrown cart track up to the nearby forest road.
The road is reached by the quarry and we follow it to the right, walking along it for only a short distance, as soon a wide cart track branches off to the left. Continue along the aforementioned cart track, and at a small fork continue along the wider one to the right. There is a fairly steep climb, and after a few minutes you return to the dirt road and follow it up to a nearby crossroads.
From the crossroads, continue along the road on the right in the direction of Tegoška planina (left mountain pasture Šija and Pungrat). There are some serpentine ascents, then the road crosses the slopes to the right without any major changes in elevation. When the forest ends, we have reached the outskirts of Tegoška planina, and we then follow the road down to the mountain pasture pasture on Tegoška. Starting point - mountain pasture Zali potok 40 minutes, mountain pasture Zali potok - Tegoška planina 1:50.
