Mekinje nad Stično - Lavričeva koča on Gradišče

Access to the starting point:
From the motorway Ljubljana - Novo Mesto, take the exit Ivančna Gorica and then follow the road towards Stična. At Stična, at the crossroads opposite the monastery, turn slightly right and continue in the direction of Pristava nad Stično. In Mekinje you will see signs for Lavrice's Cottage, which will direct you to the right onto a slightly narrower road. The road first climbs slightly, then descends and leads us to a small crossroads, where we continue to the right and then after a few metres we park in a marked and beautifully landscaped parking lot.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the asphalted road in the direction of Lavrice's hut. The road, which immediately starts to climb moderately, quickly leads us through the lane of a forest to the top slope of Gradišče, from which we have a beautiful view. Here the path or road turns to the left and after a few 10 steps of further walking leads us to the top of Gradišče. Lavričeva koča (Lavriče's cottage) is located just a few metres below the summit, in the middle of which stands the Church of St Nicholas.
