Hunting lodge below Glavica - Slavnik (by road)

Access to the starting point:
From the Ljubljana - Koper motorway, take the Kozina exit and follow the road towards Rijeka. At Hrpelje, you will see a direction sign for Slavnik, pointing to the right. The road, which initially leads past the craft zone, soon becomes macadam and takes us a little higher into the forest. Follow this sometimes slightly worse road to a marked parking area near the hunting lodge under Glavica.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the left-hand "main" road, which after about 15 minutes' walk leads to an unmarked crossroads. Continue slightly right (slightly left Hrpeljska gora, cottage pri Lipa and mountain pasture Jegno) along the road, which continues to climb gently through the forest. The road then flattens out a little and continues with a few short drops and climbs. After a while, the road passes out of the forest onto the grassy slopes, where the marked path from Prešnice joins us on the right.
Continue along the road, which takes us a little higher to the next crossroads. Continue straight ahead again (to the left, the road from which the marked footpath branches off) along the road, which then climbs in a moderate semicircle around the Grmada lookout (998m), where the fire control observatory is located.
The road then crosses a short lane of forest and leads to a point where an unmarked cart track branches off to the left, leading to the top of Grmada. We continue along the road, which is joined a few steps later by a marked footpath on the left. The road, which soon begins to climb steeply, is followed all the way to the top of Slavnik.
