Koča na Pesku - The lake Ribniško jezero (via Lovrenška jezera)

Access to the starting point:
a) From the Ljubljana - Maribor motorway, take the Slovenske Konjice exit and continue driving towards the above-mentioned place. From Slovenske Konjice continue towards Zreče, and we continue along the road in the direction of Roga. When we arrive at Rogla, we continue along the main road, which continues for some time without any major changes in elevation, then turns left and gradually begins to descend. Follow the road to Koča na Pesku, where you park in the parking lot near the hut.
b) First drive to Lovrenc na Pohorju (to get here from the road Maribor - Dravograd), then continue driving towards Rogla and the Cottage on the Sand. The gravel road then leads first to Mašinžaga and then to Koča na Pesku. Park in the parking lot next to the Cottage on the Sand.

Path description:
From Koča na Pesku continue along the road in the direction of Mašin Žaga. The road first descends through the valley between Rogla on the left and Pesko on the right, and then leads to Mašin Žaga, where there is a small reservoir.
Continue left towards Lovrenška jezera and Ribniška koča, passing the lake on the left. On the other side of the lake, the signs for Lovrenška jezera and the Peat Trail direct you to the right, where you cross a wooden bridge. Continue parallel to the stream for a few 10 paces, then go left up to where the markings direct you. The way forward gradually starts to climb a little more, and after about 25 minutes of climbing you reach a marked crossroads where you join the path from Roga.
Continue right in the direction Lovrenška jezera (left Rogla), where the path continues with some crossing and short ascents and descents, and then begins to climb on a partly paved path, where we climb on wooden bridges. Higher up, the path levels out and you reach a crossroads where you go right towards Lovrenška jezera (left Ribniška koča and Rogla on the western path).
Only a few 10 steps further you reach a lookout tower, from which you have a nice view towards the plateau where the lakes are located, and from the tower you continue on wooden bridges, which lead you to the lakes during the dwarf pines.
From the lakes, return to the last crossroads and continue in the direction of Ribniška koča and Rogle. After a few minutes of descending on wooden bridges, go right from the marked crossroads in the direction of Lovrenc na Pohorju and Ribniška koča (left Rogla on the western path). Cross the slopes below the plateau Lovrenška jezera, where the path crosses a few streams, then the slope becomes scenic and you reach the crossroads at Planinka.
Here we continue straight on (right Lovrenc to Pohorje), and the path leads us along beautiful views of Pohorje and Kamnik Savinja Alps and Karawanks in the distance, and to the right there is also a beautiful view towards Golica / Koralpe. After a few minutes of descending through the vast meadow of Planinka, the path enters the forest and then descends a little more steeply. At a lower altitude, you will pass a small well, after which you will reach the Šiklarica preval, located at 1300 m above sea level. From the pass, gradually start climbing, and follow the signs at the crossroads. A little higher up, a short trail (2 minutes) branches off to the right to the sign of the two downed airmen. Continue climbing through the forest, but higher up the forest starts to thin out and you reach the next crossroads, located a few minutes below Jezerc vrh.
Here go right towards Ribniško jezero (straight Jezerski vrh and Ribniška koča), and after a short crossing go right again (left Jezerski vrh and Ribniška koča) and within a minute of further walking descend to Lake Ribnica.
