Kandrše (Trata) - Limbarska gora

Access to the starting point:
a) Leave the Štajerska motorway at exit Krtina, then follow signs for Moravče and Zagorje ob Savi. Just after the road sign marking the beginning of Kandrše, you will reach a pass near the hamlet of Trata, where you turn left and park in the gravel parking lot opposite the company Strip's, elektrotehnika - elektronika, d. o. o.

b) Drive to Izlake (to get here take Trojane or Zagorje ob Savi, then continue driving in the direction of Moravce. In Kandrše, at Strip's, elektrotehnika - elektronika, d. o. o. , turn right and park in the gravel parking lot by the mountain direction signs.

Path description:
From the parking lot, follow the road towards Limbarska gora, Golčaj and Vrha pri Mlinše. At first, we walk along the folded asphalt road that leads us across the meadow, and at the hamlet of a few houses, the markings direct us to the left side road, from which we immediately go left again (straight marked path to Limbarska gora) and climb up to the nearby church of St. Lenart, which opens up a beautiful view that reaches all the way to the Zasavska Svete gora.

From the church, we quickly return to the marked path and then continue along the dirt road which climbs up to the pass between the Jerščeva gorica (586 m) on the left and the Kandrše hill on the right. At the pass, leave the road leading to the nearby homestead and continue slightly right on the marked cart track, which descends through the forest. The path soon becomes level, and you pass a cross and an older chapel to reach an asphalt road, which you follow northwards. We quickly reach a hamlet of a few houses, where we go left at the chapel down to the nearby church, which we can see from our path for a few minutes. After a short descent, we reach St Michael's Church, which was rebuilt in 2015.

From the church we return to the chapel and then we reach the Dolgo Brdo Kandrše - part of the Dolgo Brdo Kandrše settlement, where we follow the signs at the crossroads. In the upper part of the settlement, turn left off the main road, where the asphalt is quickly replaced by cart track. Follow cart track for a few minutes, with occasional views, and then reach the settlement of Vrh pri Mlinše, where you initially continue to climb, but at the end of the settlement you descend gently.
A longer walk follows along an initially still scenic macadam road, which continues through the forest, with beautiful views here and there. At a less well-marked crossroads, slightly before the quarry, which can already be seen to the left below us, continue on the slightly left upper road. The road leads us briefly above the quarry, from where a fine view opens up, and then gradually we reach the settlement of Tlačnica, where there is a marked crossroads.
Continue in the direction of Golčaj, Kala and Limbarska gora (left down Peče and Zgornje Koseze) and continue walking along the forest road, which climbs gently to moderately at first, then flattens out and occasionally drops slightly. When you leave the forest you reach the first houses or cottages in the hamlet of Kal. Here the road becomes asphalted, and we leave it at the end of the settlement and continue to the right by the goat house, where the signs point. Only a few 10 steps further on, the path ends and we continue down to the left, where we cross a meadow and descend to the edge of the forest, where the marked path reappears. There is a steeper descent through the forest, and lower down, at the edge of the meadow, we reach a marked crossroads, where we join a waymarked trail with Golčaj on our right, and at the same time we join the waymarks of the European walking route E6.
Continue towards Limbarska gora, initially following the wide cart track, and when you reach the tarmac road leading to Limbarska gora, follow it to the right.
Continue along this road for some time, and then at a small hamlet, signs direct you right down to a dirt road. There is a short descent, and then the road turns first to the left and then to the right, and then a moderate ascent leads us to the next hamlet. Here we walk through a few yards and then signs direct us to the grassy cart track, which leads us back to the tarmac road over a scenic slope. There is a short, steep climb and the road leads to the guesthouse and church at the top of Limbarska Gora.
