Kamnik - Visoka špica (via Krniška gora)

Access to the starting point:
a) From Komenda, Trzin or Domžale, drive towards Kamnik, then continue along the Kamnik bypass towards Gornji Grad and Kamnik Bistrica. When you arrive in Kamnik, turn right at the first traffic lights in the direction of the Kamnik Health Centre, near which you can park in a large, well-maintained parking lot.
b) From Gornji Grad, drive over the Črnivec Pass to Kamnik, where you continue along the Kamnik bypass. At the last traffic light in Kamnik, turn left in the direction of the Kamnik Health Centre, near which you can park in a large parking lot.
c) From the motorway Maribor - Ljubljana, take the exit Vransko and then continue towards Tuhinj and Kamnik. When you arrive in Kamnik, pay attention, because at the last traffic light turn left in the direction of the Kamnik Health Centre, near which you can also park in a large parking lot.

Path description:
From the starting point, continue along Novi trg Street, walking northwards. After a few minutes we reach the Kamnik bypass, where we walk along the roadside for a short while, and then we see the first signs for the Old Castle, which direct us to a wide and beautifully landscaped nature trail. The trail quickly starts to climb quite steeply and turns into a forest, through which it then climbs for quite some time. During the ascent, we see several benches and trail boards, and just above the area where there is a greater number of small mills and trail boards, we arrive at a crossroads, where we continue sharp left (straight on continues the nature trail, and the hunting trail to Visoko špico). There is a short climb through the forest, and then it thins out and the trail quickly leads us to the ruins of the former castle, where we have a beautiful view.
From the top, continue along the asphalt road, which begins to descend towards the saddle between Krniško Gora and Visoko Špica. At the saddle, another of the two paths bypassing the Old Castle joins us, and we continue slightly left on cart track, which begins to climb through the forest. Continue on cart track or slightly right on a parallel forest path. If you continue along cart track, keep to the right, if you continue along the forest path, choose the ascending path at the crossroads. In both cases, after a good 10 minutes of further walking, you will reach the top of Visoka špica, the only difference being that if you walk along the cart track you will first reach the registration box, and if you follow the path you will first reach the lookout point with benches.
