Access to the starting point:
Exit the Styria motorway at exit Žalec, then follow the signs for Žalec. Via Žalec follow the signs for Griže, which you will reach shortly after the bridge over the Savinja River. In Griže, turn right towards the cemetery, and we park in the parking lot opposite the parish church of St Pancras.
Path description:
From the parking lot opposite the church, continue up the asphalt road, and at the nearby crossroads turn right towards Homa and Šešč pri Prebold. The road continues past two chapels and then descends to a crossroads near the inn at Zibiki.
Continue straight ahead here (left path to Hom over Zahom), where you pass the above-mentioned guesthouse and a few more houses, and when you reach the forest, Griže ends. A little further on we reach a crossroads where the signs for Hom and Pongrac from numbers 17-28 direct us left on a side road (straight Hom over Lajnarjev hill). Continue walking through the forest and soon we reach the next crossroads from which we continue straight or slightly left. Higher up, the asphalt ends and after about 15 minutes of further walking, the footpath signs direct you slightly left upwards. A moderately steep path leads on past a dilapidated building, followed by a short steep climb. After a few minutes of cross-country climbing, we reach the chapel, where the path is laid, and the path over Lajnarjev hill, or the Brdarjeva path from Matki, and the path from Šešč pri Prebold join us from the right. Continue to the left, following the more complex cart track, and when you leave the forest you will reach a small pass where the path from the hamlet of Zahom joins.
Here, loking to the right, a fine view opens up, which in good visibility reaches as far as Kamnik Savinja Alps, and we continue past the nearby house and continue along the steep macadam road, which we follow all the way to the top of Hom, where the church of St Mary Magdalene and the Drago dom na Hom are situated.
