Galerija Berebica in Trenta - Trentski Pelc (Old military road - Trentski Pelc)

Access to the starting point:
a) From the route of Bovec, drive towards Trenta, where you can park about 300 m further from the Berebica Gallery.
b) Take the Ljubljana - Jesenice motorway to Kranjska Gora, over the Vršič pass to Trenta towards Bovec, where you park about 300m in front of the Berebica Gallery.

Path description:
Start at Trenta where you will see a pole with a sign on the left towards Trenta. Here begins an old military road which winds up 24 serpentines. After the serpentines are over, the path continues more like a mulatier and a track to the right where it descends a bit along the escarpment and the confines and then up again to Stary Utra and the hunting hut on Berebicica.
About 50 m below the hut the track for Trentski Pelc turns left along a grassy ridge and continues up between trees and dwarf pines. When you get a little higher, the track slowly retreats to the left under the scree. Soon you see a scree field. At the left edge of the scree, we rise under the wall to the retreat to the left, where the more difficult and orientationally demanding part begins. The "Gamsja" track is harder to follow, with cairns in between to help. Soon we come across the shorter chimney and then continue up a more distinct gully and through grassy hammocks. Just below the summit, bear left around a corner into a gully and follow it and the grass to a ridge and left to the summit.
The route is more difficult and steep (intermediate I-II) and unmarked. Suitable for experienced hill walkers only. GPS tracking is recommended.
