D station - Vrh Osojnic (via Dom Petra Skalarja na Kaninu)

Access to the starting point:
a) From Kranjska Gora, via the Vršič or Predel pass, drive to Bovec, where you park at the lower station of the circular cable car to Kanin (the cable car is located near the petrol station). Then buy a ticket and take the cable car to station D.

b) From the Primorska side, first drive into the valley of the Soča River and then pass through Tolmin and Kobarid to Bovec, where you park at the lower station of the circular cable car to Kanin (the cable car is located near the petrol station). Then buy a ticket and take the cable car to station D.

Path description:
From station D, turn slightly left on the path towards Kanin and the huts (Prestreljenik and Rombon slightly right). At first follow the ski slope, then the path splits. Slightly to the right, the path continues to Visoki Kanin and the path towards the window in Prestreljenik, while we continue slightly to the left and walk along the base of the scree to the base of a small wall. Here you will see a rope climb up a technically difficult section. After about 15 minutes, the steepness eases and the scenic route continues with a few short ascents and descents, but in the exposed parts, where the route passes over cracks or potholes, the fixed safety gear are still helpful. This route, which continues along the world of the Kanin foothills, is then followed to the bivouac, from which you descend in a few steps to the Home of Peter Skalar on Kanin.
From the house, return to the bivouac, which you pass on the left, and then continue along the marked trail in the direction of Visoki Kanin, where the trail leads you north-westwards. The trail, which also descends a little here and there, leads us mostly along an undistinguished ridge, which we soon follow to reach the Vrh Osojnic (2348 m). Here the ridge narrows a little, and we continue to follow the marked trail. When we reach the next, slightly more distinct peak with a mogic, we are at Vrh Osojnic (2371 m).
